since monday, june 7 at 2:00 a.m., i am paralyzed from just above the belly button down to my toes. I am in the denver va hospital for the next several weeks to learn how to function again. It is a very rare spinal cord infarction (stroke). Went to bed and within 6 hours, i woke up this way! I sure miss being on the net with you guys and today my brother had this laptop sent to the hospital so i can stay in touch. In a few months i'll be building my knives again! Thanks for letting me get this talk done.

Can't say I know how you feel or any stupid comments like that, nor would I want to but from one VET to another I say; stay strong, times will be tough, but we learn that tough times make us stronger. I'll keep you in my thoughts and send positive energy your way. I don't know what it is that made you parilized over night, but things like that go away as fast as they come, and that is what I'll hope for. SO MOTE IT BE!

Can I do anything for you? I'm in the Denver area.

I'm an admirer of your work. Very sorry for your condition. Hopefully it's not permanent. Life alway seems to be throwing curve balls. I'll keep you in my prayers.

good luck with the recovery and getting back into what you love...the thought of waking like that is a really scary concept but you're taking it a lot better then I ever could, I admire that.

Take care!

Sorry to hear that Eric,

Will be sending lots of smoke & prayers from the west coast. Get well soon, I need you to build me a new 110;)

We've never met, but I can identify. 1 1/2 years ago I went into the hospital for what they thought was a stroke. Turned out it was a very rare spinal cord disease, and I'm a hemiplegic (left side paralyzed).

While I hope movement returns--it often does with strokes--I can testify that I have a great life, and have been back at work for a while. So hang in there; the adjustment will be a bitch, but life does get better.

Having a loving wife helps a lot. So does good friends.

You have my very best wishes for a positive recovery. Anyone capable of creating such beauty in knives, will be capable of overcoming life's slings and arrows.

Be well, friend.

I will be thinking good thoughts for a speedy recovery.

I'm not far and would be available should you need something. Preston
