Also, they have a 1725 RPM 5HP Baldor motor for 100 bucks. you can't beat that from what I hear....

I used to change out wheels like that on an O.D. Grinder used to grind die pins. Same Norton wheel with a 12" ID. It took two of us to get it on the machine. They ran wet and would have been perfect for knives, if you could rig up a machine to turn them. Here is one of the machines that looks similar to ours.

Sounds similar to wheels we use on the roll grinders at the steel mill I work at too... kind of like a giant lathe, but instead of a fixed cutter, it has a giant abrasive wheel rotating in a coolant bath. Pretty cool machines.

Thanks for dropping in Maygen.

I am a big promoter of HGR. The deals available to machinists and those needing obscure items are enormous.
I have paid $3.99 for new-in-the-box items that would have cost hundreds from the manufacturer.

Those 36" wheels wouldn't be still around ,would they?

Bladsmth,
Glad to hear you are a HGR fan. Those 36" wheels are no longer available. Please feel free to check our website as we recieve in new inventory daily, on average 12-14 truck loads.
