Ok, so THIS is the kind of experience I never expected, but and tickled pink with.

I traded for a beautiful used handmade Busthcraft knife. When I rec'd it, I noticed the only marking was a hand stamped FOWLER on he spine. With a little detective work, I found the maker: Stephen Fowler, aka stephenfowler on BF. After exchanging a little info about the knife and it's history, I learned that it was one of his first blades, made over 5 years ago. Stephen pointed out that he would warranty the knife forever, as long as he was alive to service it:).

Using the knife, I discovered that the tip had lost a little of its point, so I contacted him, and asked what he would charge to resharpen it back to LN edge. To my surprise, he said he would do it for free as a courtesy!

Well, the blade came back the other day, and needless to say I am thrilled with the quality of the work, and also with Stephen's service!

I am not afforded the luxury of buying custom knives often, so it was a pleasant opportunity to get this knife, and I'm now saving my $$ to buy another Fowler knife as soon as I can!

I highly recommend doing as much business as you can with Stephen Fowler!

Thanks my friend!:D:D:D

They don't get much better than Stephen Fowler, I'll tell ya.

Here's my Fowler story. Hopefully, Stephen won't mind me telling it.

Several years ago, when Stephen was just getting started with the knifemaking, I saw his work posted. I was impressed and agreed to buy one of his hunters and sent him some stabilized Mesquite Burl for him to put on another larger knife for me.

I got the smaller knife and I was less than impressed with it. Fit and finish weren't what I was used to(take into consideration that I am a long time collector and a picky bastid, ok?). So, I reluctantly contacted him and told him I wasn't crazy about it. Thinking(stupidly, I might add) that he wouldn't be able to please me, I asked for a refund and cancelled the order for the larger knife. I told him to keep the stabilized Mesquite Burl for his trouble.

Thinking the worst, I was somewhat reluctant to open his email response. I figured he would react like most people, and get defensive, etc...

NOT! Not only did he not get upset, he seemed to actually want the constructive criticism. Of course, he refunded my money on the small knife immediately. He made no mention of the Mesquite Burl, however.

Fast forward a few weeks, and I get a box in the mail. It was the larger knife I had originally ordered, with the Mesquite Burl on it. Much better fit and finish, to be sure. When I contacted Stephen about this knife(remember, I had cancelled this order), he replied that it was his gift to me.

At this point, Stephen would have to be found guilty in a court of law for stealing and eating babies, before I'd have a bad word to say about him. ;)

Oh yeah, and his knives are getting better, everytime I see one. :)

Some great stories guys that's someone you want to deal with. Always good to see someone go to THAT extent to warranty their product and keep the customer happy.
