Hundred Year Anniversary of the 1911

I'm having a custom CCO (Officers frame with a Commanders slide) built based on a Colt frame and slide during 2011 to commemorate the anniversary - it'll be my new EDC 1911 to replace a bigger/heavier stainless Kobra Carry that I don't have any longer and was heavier than I prefer for CCW.

Jimmy, can't believe that you posted that little ole beater on here, love it man!!!
Looks like the one that Daddy showed me pics of that he used in WWII, got pics of him standing on Okinawa with him strapped up with the ole .45 on the lap over snap holster when he was in the 11th Airborne Division...

But I gotsta try one of these, http://www.armscor.net/index.html fits the 2011 budget, you can get one for about 450. with an LEO discount and one of our local gunsmiths carries one and will smooth it up, he claims they are as good of a 1911 as anyone would want.

All I can add is my old Colt beater :D

Thanks! Looking for a new EDC and I really like the design, blade length, and G10. I will check it out.

Here's my contribution to the 1911's. It's my favorite: Colt Mk IV Series 70 in electroless nickel with a nice fat BA Ergo.

So..., how are you going to ring in the one-hundred year anniversary of the 1911??? I plan to sip a chilled bottle of Black Ops (if it existed) from a brandy glass while admiring my Les Baer TRS. Anybody have a better idea????? I DOUBT IT!!!!!!!!!!:D

I think that given the grips on my Ed Browns that a little JWB is most appropriate :-)

Well, you guys know that this lady is a raving lunatic when it comes to the 1911. I know you've all seen it, but here is my favorite pic of my beloved Brown with the custom grips....

'Nuff said!! ;):D

I only have one 1911, it's my first and I got it for a great deal as a user recently. Here it is in this pic with the Battle Pappy. The 10 round clip sure looks funny, but it works great and is a ton of fun to shoot! Now I need a set of Blue/Black G10 grips... :D

I like having my Wilson Combat (CQB) to go with my Busse Combat. I'm surprised I don't have more company- great gun!

Sorry for the lack of pics.

If I could get my wife to let me spend enough to get one I would have a Wilson right now. Incredible guns without a doubt. Some would say some of the best ever made.

With that being said and knowing you have a Wilson Combat . . .MVF, I hate you!:p;)
