Hungarian Folder

I was impressed by the outstanding quality of this folder. It is really, really well built, with everything fitting so nicely and tight you would think it is finished by hand under a microscope. The blade shape reminds me of the Para 2, but improved (at least to my uses and taste). Very comfortable in the hand. Unfortunatelly, the blade length does not allow legal carry in Colorado, therefore I had to pass.

I think this is a knife you have to hold in your hand to really appreciate. In that sense, it reminds me of the PPT: both great knives with unusual looks that are unjustly portraied by photography.

Agreed. No quantity and/or quality of pictures does the Hungarian justice. You really have to hold it in your hands, play with it and observe all the nooks and crannies closely. It's a superb piece.

I also agree with Sal's comment about the Hungarian:

I've been carrying one and It's a custom quality piece.

My apologies for dredging up an old thread, but I thought it better than starting a new one...
Two questions if I may please?
I have looked at all the pics I could find, but am still unsure if there is any gimping on the spine?
How slippery are the polished G10 scales?

There's no jimping on the spine of the blade and it's really not necessary since your thumb rests on the back of the bolster.

The G-10 is highly polished so it'll be slippery if the handle or your hand are wet or oily, etc.

Someone did a mod by bead blasting the blade and handle. That should make the handle less slippery when not dry.

See the thread: Bead blasted Hungarian

That bead blasted Hungarian is great! Somehow, I had missed that thread. Thanks for posting the link, RamZar.

I bought a friend's Hungarian and sent it off to be stonewashed. I'll post pics of it with the bead-blasted one once it comes back home.
