Hunted Xtras?

LOL... The only reason I watched the movie was because it was filmed here in Portland... They filmed the battle scene with all the explosions a few miles from my house, and since they did the filming after 9/11 everyone that lived around there freaked out when they heard it. Even had some F-15's from the ANG base flying around that night. Guess the crew forgot to let them know they were blowing stuff up...

Not that great a movie though IMO.
Want something interesting? Try "The Core" - more bullshit Hollywood science than I can stand(although landing the space shuttle in the middle of LA was kinda funny), but a decent story line at least.

I was down there that night....heh... it was a lot of pyro! The trailers and tents hundreds of yards away were shaking. The folks who worked on the explosions also did the Windtalkers film. The FBI rep said they had contacted the surrounding security community, but there was of course some miscommunication somewhere down the line.

BLADE HUNTED Review

PK, Thanks for writing BLADE magazine. I was made aware of it when others emailed me and said they wrote pretty much the same reply to BLADE as you did. The recent issue of BLADE only printed a positive reply to Reinhart's review in their letters column, though.

One of Reinhart's criticisms was the template standup training without resistance. Anyone who has started training in firearms or ANY legit knife systems know that you begin by introducing the targets first, and then progress to active drills. You have to know WHAT you're targeting before attacking someone resisting. Trained operators don't do room clearing drills prior to spending hours and hours on the range first. That whole knife training segment wasn't in the initial script and director saw that it helped explain that there was a methodology to learning the blade.

Cool, I'm in awe of the knowledge you guys possess, and I really liked the flashback training sequences in the film. In the theater when Tommy Lee does the "1, 2, 3, power assist 4, 5, 6" I could hear a bunch of guys in unison say "Holy crap!" It was cool to see the audience reaction to that scene.

Keep up the good work.

Rafael,

After reading many of your comments I went back and watched all the extras on my dvd and also watched the movie again last week. Nice to put your face with your posts. Thanks to your comments here alot of the scenes made quite a bit more sense. I paid alot more attention to the fight scenes and was able to appreciate them at a different level than before.

I have also been reading one of Tom's books on tracking and it helps to know where he is coming from, even if you don't necessarily agree with his philosophy entirely.

I think it is unfortunate that the director made some of the decisions that he did. I feel that with a different director and better writers this movie could have been really impressive. Anyway, the choreographers and stunt guys did a great job, and I really appreciate your comments on the forum.

Take care!

Greg

Greg and Jared,
Thanks for the kind comments on my posts and the film. Much appreciated.

I just rented the VHS version

I'm almost afraid to say that I enjoyed the movie.
It's entertainment after all is said and done.
