First ice fishing trip of this season yesterday, got a few rainbow trout and silver salmon. Usually my fish processing knife, which lives in my fishing kit, is a Case Sodbuster Jr, but it was a little duller than I could use easily this time. Already bloody/slimy I didn't want to bother to wash to sharpen it, so I just grabbed my latest edc, that I knew was razor sharp, my Case Muskrat. Long thin blade and tip was a dream for this!

Fantastic non-typical whitetail Dave! Congrats!

Great looking knives for the commemoration too. Thanks for sharing them.

Didn't mean to mislead gunstockjack, a buddy got the buck down in TX. I got the commision; I built the knives.

Thank you sir! And as a guy could guess he measuered out at 194.

Deer hunting In Maryland, where I live, is more like going to the garden to harvest the fruits of your labor. They eat the gardens and landscape and then people let me remove them due to the nuisance. Literally out of back yards. I like 3 nice does per year for the freezer. This one fell before 7 am Saturday, was home and strapped to the bucket of the tractor and quatered during the Ohio state game. She will be great table fare. The knife is not from anyone, that members have heard of, but it is a treasure to me. My older cousin had a friend of his make this kife for me for my highschool graduation. The guy is a plumber in southwest PA and rarely makes knives. My cousin talked him into it since it was for my graduation. The knife is 22 years old. She was made by stock removal method by files from a sawmill blade. She still woks great.

Today I'm in a bigger woods for PA'S opener. Bucks only and big ones only.
Good luck to all those In the woods today, now If I could get the turkeys to be quiet. They are driving me nuts.

Sure Jake, but right now I'm over looking a 60 yard field waiting for the venison to come to me. I'm up here unail Sunday, so I'll take some when I get back to Maryland.

Very nice knives in the outdoors. Lovely Randall Burnt Stag. I hope to get out again soon. My son wants me to take him again soon. If he can get one he wants to use my Buck 110 to handle the field dressing. I hope he can put it to use.

Chris

Jon, nice deer, nice knives and great pictures! Your boy looks really happy, pass along the congratulations!

Did the trail cam get a picture of your son taking your picture (looks like his rifle leaning against the tree in the first pic)

Been carrying this Shigeno since I got it. Haven't gotten the chance to use it yet as I haven't been out hunting much. Hit some ice under the snow two weekends ago and crashed my truck. The rocks and brush really did a number on it even at only 35mph (4WD too! No injuries, just pride lol.) Kinda puts a few of my hunting spots out of reach with a loaner car.

Thanks for the nice comment. That is the spare cabin rifle my wife sometimes uses. My son tagged out the second day and I shot mine thanksgiving morning. My son has a Kimber 84M in 308 Mine is also a Kimber 308. Cabin rifle is a Ruger American varmit (I think) in 243. It's not a very good rifle. Also carried that day was a Case trapper.

This L.L. Bean badged Schrade did the job on cutting out a two man limit of TN ducks this past Sunday
