Hunting and camping trip

Ps. I remember reading an article that for a few years (after the old WRA plant in CT closed) that they made the M70 in an FN machine gun plant off Clemson Road in Columbia SC. I have also read that they are now made in the Browning rifle plant in Portugal. The one pictured above was made in CT in 1963 per the serial number - it started out as a 30-06 SPRG but I had it rebarreled to 270 WIN with a Douglas barrel. OH
OH, thanks...mine does say -MADE IN USA-, on the receiver. Must have been SC, not NC. Yours sure has gorgeous wood and that Douglas barrel would make it very accurate, great rifle!

Thank's Preston! I had it glass bedded after I started working up loads and added a pressure point at the front of the stock - it is a sub-MOA rifle with a good handload and the pressure point, but a very mediocre shooter without the pressure point. OH

I ordered mine (pre-64 .270) through Cabela's Gun Library and the glass bedding was a surprise (taking away from the collector value). But I bought it anyway and was amazed by the accuracy. I found a minty old Leupold scope on e-Bay that fit well with it and I was very pleased with my purchase in the end. Yes, it puts them in one hole if I hold up my end of the bargain. :)
