Hunting Knife

You know, I never really worried about the weight of a knife so much when hunting. I just don't carry that much stuff and I don't back pack into an area to hunt, or hunt and camp. If I did, it would be car camping anyway for hunting. Only since starting to hunt in my area have I carried a poncho/rain gear hunting (deer) and that generally requires a small day pack for that and perhaps an extra sweater just in case to layer.

That Cold Steel Ultimate Hunter looks like it would do the trick at a lower price point.

Why is this knife so much higher in price? Over $100 online

The knife pictured is the high end model with an S30V blade and rosewood handle accents. They also make a budget model which has plain nylon handles and a 420HC blade for around $40-$50.

I prefer fixed blades, but the Bucklite Maxes are my folding knives. They come in 3 sizes - medium 482, small 484, large 486 - the 486 is about the size of the 110, the medium is like the 112 and the small is similar to the 55 or 501.
