Hi guys I'm going to get a liscense for hunting soon. I would like to get a nice fixed blade to accompany my buck 110. If possible something in stag would be nice. Can you guys please keep the price low? This knife will accompany me while hunting most likely deer, pheasant, and turkey. Thanks,

ace

The Buck 119 is hard to beat.
The Buck Omni looks like it can do the
job. Both are priced nice at sporting goods stores .

The words "stag" and "low price" tend to be mutually exclusive on a knife.

If you don't mind a knife without stag, a Buck 102 or 105 with the black phenolic handle would make a great, affordable fixed blade hunting knife.

The Woodsman is the model 102. A great choice especially for cleaning turkey and pheasant sized game.

But since you already have a 110, you may want to consider EEE's recommendation and look at a 119 for larger cutting jobs and camp chores?

Look at a 650

You really need to try them all out and decide for yourself. Selecting a knife depends on what you are going to use it for.

I personally can't imagine using a stag handle as a hunting knife.

What do you mean by "hunting?" Are you looking for a nice being in the woods/utility knife, or a gutting/skinning knife?

I know ive seen picks of the blades compared togather. But I'm looking for a fixed blade. It appears buck doesn't have much in stag. Thats okay though, an other recommendations??

Ace,

If there were only one, the 110 is as good as it gets. Thats the one I use for field dressing and some skinning. Then, also for some skinning and quartering chores, I use a 121. It has the longer thinner blade for ease of reach in trimming out the backstrap and quartering.

For utility things, there is a 650 Nighthawk if I need a big blade. But have never used anything that large processing deer.

There are a lot of options for you. And there are a lot of threads here about this very subject. Just have to figure out the search thing.

But, compare the 110 to some of the different fixed blades. The 110 is almost the same physical length as a vanguard and over all might be slightly longer than a vanguard. To go longer over all, in a fixed blade, if that is what you want to do, start with a 105 .

I put up a pic a while back that shows the different blade lengths of the 100 series fixed blades.

Might try a search on my name. Might give you and idea.....

oops.....you beat me with your answer...

Oh but Buck does have a lot of fixed blades in stag. But forget about cheap..... unless cheap means something different to you than it does me.

These are all limited editions. There aren't any or very few Buck production stag fixed blades.

Dang those are real lookers woo wee but does the 105 come with th cocobolo wood and brass handle?

I guess there might be some special run with the 105 in that configuration. Donno....

But there was a special run of what Buck called their signature series and called it an 805. Bos S30V steel, full tang, fancy walnut handles, signed by CJ and Chuck, seralized....

I have seen those go for around $100... 805 is similar to 105
