I know ive seen picks of the blades compared togather. But I'm looking for a fixed blade. It appears buck doesn't have much in stag. Thats okay though, an other recommendations??
aceofblades... check out the 105 pathfinder, it is a nice size and will compliment the 110. I would not recommend stag for field use.
If ya look at KY's pic, the top 119BP and the 105BP (two top knives) are Rosewood.Oh I guess its rose wood I thought it was cocobolo.
MWM?????
Why would you not recommend stag for field use????? I have carried and used stag handled knives both fixed and folders for field dressing deer for years. The ruff bark gives me a good grip when they are covered with goo much better the wood grips.

I agree about the grip, no complaints there... in New England where I've done a lot of my hunting, in some areas there is a lot more granite than soft ground. I'm always nervous about dropping a stag handled knife and breaking it. Plus, in my mind, I'd rather carry something in the field that if lost can be easily replaced (and a lot cheaper). If you like stag for field use... go for it.
It's still a free country!![]()
Hi MWM,
I can understand the fear of a knife getting lost in the feild. But, you should not fear it breaking from a drop...granite or no granite....Buck would replace the handle if it broke!!!!

Mainewoodsman, that makes sense. We dont have alot of granite here in Illinois. Goose my 105 came with tha black sheath also, it was from bp, but the handles are definately differant.
