Nicely done! Sounds like the little guy is earning his keep, and that's always a good feeling when a young dog comes through for you, congratulations!

danny not sure about the silver/gold thing we score a bit differently and I rarely do anyway. It is a great head (it was scored by a certified Douglas scorer to placate everyone else's curiosity) and I am happy to have it :D :D

Yea, their hides are really nice when the first come out. But as spring progresses and the days get hotter they start to rub and have bald/sparse spots. This one had a prime hide, except for an old scar across his nose.
 
I have two Sako AIIs, that one (that started as a 1983 22/250) and a 1983 22/250 (they are 300 apart in serial number but bought 20 years apart and had vastly different lives). The one above is by far my most favoured hunting rifle.
