Hunting stories

Thanks . I understand in some modified models they can use .410 shot shells in it for bird hunting . DM

WOW!! Lot of fun stories and pics!! Congrats to everyone on their successful hunts.

I have been at the hunting place since opening weekend and have only taken a turkey hen and a hog. Its been as much fun watching all the critters and sitting with the kids and grandkids as it would be doing the shooting.

The big rack bucks haven't showed up this year as they did last, But there has been 3 pretty nice ones taken.

Niece took a 9 that I watched opening weekend and let it pass. Was pretty sure she would get it or the almost identical 10 point. So Saturday my youngest granddaughter got the 10 pt. Wish the 9 rack was still here to compare them.

Grandson took a doe for meat for him and his mom.

Then the oldest daughter has again been putting it on us. She is still riding high after last years 15 pt and has taken 6 or 7 hogs, 4 turkey, a cull spike and passed on a 9pt that her hubby took.

She really ribbed him about taking one she passed on. But it was a nice tall rack. She just didn't like that it had one tip broken...picky female...:D

All I have taken is a turkey hen and a hog. One hog we weighed went 100 pounds before dressing. For every hog shot, there were 6 to 12 or so in the herd they were with. Unfortunately we aren't doing them enough damage.

So here is a pic of my birds fan. Not real impressive being a hen. But sure gonna eat good.

Naturally our 110's have been involved in all this meat processing. :D

Fun thread....Thanks all!

Pack, That 110 should have no problems doing all the game you folks have been harvesting . Thanks for the update . Glad the family is having a great time . DM

Well deer season got started on this past Monday. I headed to camp on Saturday:D I was in my stand by 6:20am each morning and hunted until dark every day except Tuesday. We got just under 3 inches of rain in about 30 hours and I quit about 12:30 that afternoon, soaked through:(. Got to be Saturday mid to late morning and I started having the feeling of getting skunked(at least for a buck) I could have shot 8 different 6pts but my Management Unit requires 4 points on one side to be legal. The kicker is right across the interstate that runs the nortern border of the land I hunt, it is only 3 on one side and anterless is all week instead of starting on Sat.:grumpy: Finally caught a break as a watcher during a drive and shot a nice 1/2 rack 4 pt which would have had about am 18" spread if the other side was still there and symetrical. Less than an hour later after dressing, tagging and getting into position, shot a doe on the next drive. All and all a purdy good day. Used my Ecolite 110 to gut both and it worked perfectly. As with folders, it was hard to get all the fat out from between the tang and liners. Need some Remoil. Here are some pics.

Fritz your half rack looks almost the size of mine. Even though it's only a 4 point mine has a 12 inch spread. It's nice to be able to tell when they have horns coming through the woods without having to look through a scope. :)

Fritz, Great photos . The freeze will be full this year . You were pleased with the Econolite . I couldn't tell what firearm you were using . Was it a shotgun ? DM

Thank you guys for your hunting stories.
This year I'm absolutely unsuccessful on my hunting.
I saw only three small boars in the course of this hunting season.
So that, I can only post the old photo of my funny hunting.
It was the hunting in September the last year.
My hunting was going from an ambush that was located low over the earth.
They have gone out from the forest simultaneously eight or nine small boars.
I have shot these two little boars with one bullet.
It was casually successful shot.:)
In the background is my old car, this year my car had died after July's tornado close to Saint-Petersburg.

Thanks for looking.

Imafritz : Very good photos.

Good job on those deer Fritz! Our deer season has moved into muzzleloader/archery and my main focus this year (still) is helping my 10 year old get one. We saw a lot of deer yesterday but it just didn't happen. Nice boars Garry!

Thanks Tony, youre a good dad. I get that next year. My daughter turns 12 next Sunday which is when she can hunt in Pa. I have already scoped a double ladder stand and a place to put it up on my brother's leased property. It's all about her next year:thumbup:

Thanks guys for your good words.
Here is another one old photo.
Dog (Laika) shows its aggressivity for the elk to my friend which has shot this elk.
The dog Laika tries to undress this Elk before than my friend.:)
It in a pointed manner pulls out the wool from an elk neck.
