Commercial fishing... Crazy rough work for a lot of political hassles and diminishing returns. Avoid it like the plague.

Good night everybody. Time to go toss some kids out of my bed. Have to get up for church soon.

Doesn't commercial fishing have one of the highest rates of serious injury and death of any occupation???

Never seen Cheaters. I live too far out in the middle of nowhere to even get cable TV. Ah but I can step off my back porch and empty my AR-15 and nobody cares cause nobody heard it. :D

You better off than me. Last time, we drove way out in the country to some family owned land, to do our shooting. Just took .22LR and the neighbors, who lived about a half mile away called the sheriff. Of course, it is our families land, but he said pack it up, kids ride 4 wheelers in those woods. We then pointed out that we had a huge dirt pile that we paid to have dug up and piled to use as a bullet stop. Then he said, pack it up or I arrest you for disturbing the peace. There have been complaints. We told him all kinds of things but he responded with the bottom line. He could take us in if he wanted to and we would hve to bond out, and never see that money again. Then we would have to hire a lawyer to go to court over it, and the whole ordeal would probably get our Concealed handgun permits revoked. So we packed up and left. Last time I looked we were in America, but the times are a changin'

I'm right in the middle of a budding mini-metropolis called Monticello. Ever hear of Indiana Beach? It's right outside of town... I drive up to my gunsmith's and use his private range. WHen we get going, I've had guys come up to me at work and ask if we were waging a small war up there. :D ARs, AKs, FN FALs, etc. are usually used, though lately we've moved towards older bolt guns...:D

We're not allowd to carry concealed here. All of the land around ours belongs to Uncles and Cousins so we don't have a problem.
I wish we had concealed carry here. The limit on blade length is 4 in. All I have on a regular bases is a Spyderco Delica.

Yeah, not common here in Indiana, but I hear it is in Michigan and Ohio (or at least, that's what my friends who live there say...).

I don't know squat about commercial fishing, but it sounds like it's going downhill. He has a Master's in Business and she is an RN so I'm sure they can find something. At least I would hope so. I keep trying to talk the wife into going up for a vacation, but she won't do it. Is it a nice place to live? I would want to live in a semi unpopulated area. Just anti-social I guess. I hear that the folks up there are different than the folks in the lower 48. That has always intrigued me. I dislike phony people. I like to be around regular ol' people

Sounds kinda like our group. We used to run out there with ARs, FALs, the occasional Mini 14 and the like. Now you see us with Enfields, Mosins and one guy brought a Krag out. I think the Enfield is the most common brought out. Stock ones, sporterized, carbines. I have really been enjoying the M-1 carbine lately though.

That sucks! It took me a little while to get used to the fact that I was armed, but now I enjoy it. Our blade lenghth is < 3.5 That really sucks.

If you get a chance, try a Swiss K-31. Most accurate military rifle I've fired, and I think I've fired most that are out there... Those things are Saa-weet. Mine will easily hold a tighter pattern than even my Finn M-39...:D
