I Am Goin' Off To War...

I'm not going to Blade, at least not this year. And I really am 17. I heard about Busse through Swamp Rat, which I found when researching survival knives.

Atleast you guys have a head start

21 and in AK here

Besides.... Regarding multiple busses and firearms, you gotta remember this:

A lot of the gents and hogs on here are in there 30's. They have a good 15+ years of work under their belt on us. We'll get our toys in time ;)

Wow, the two EU-17 Magnums in Ontario (Canada?) belong to teenagers. :D

I too found out about Busse while looking for survival knives. Perhaps you and I should go to Blade some year together. Have you ever been to a Blade?

Dr. Thor, we should look into this. :D

They may have a 15 year head start but we should be optimistic, that is 15 more years of collecting time for us. Bryan, how old were you when you first learned of Busse Combat?

Peter, no, I've never been to Blade, but maybe next year, if I'm a good boy... :D Maybe we can set up a road trip to Atlanta, I was there once, last year, its a nice place, and not called Hotlanta for nothing!

I have been their too and yes, it is HOT. If you drive, I'l chip in for gas. Yes, maybe next year if I am a good boy.

Anyone have any idea how long of a drive it would be from Toronto and how much it would be for gas?

Airsoft…… I have seen the stuff since the beginning when it was introduced to North America.

And why the hell do you need a combat knife on an airsoft field????

2 WORDS PRUNING SHEARS...lol :D that wil do the job.

I was playing paintball in Toronto Canada @ Skyball.. Immediately I thought it was a bad idea to promote faux small arms that can be mistaken for real weapons. .I mean an officer would NOT be able to tell the difference if a young kid pointed it in his/her direction there could be an incident.

Also at the time there was a huge controversy with even paintball guns being toted by immature children creating mischief and vandalizing private/public property. Just not a good idea.
I have handled the real deal ...you name it Sig,1911’s, M4, MP5, M16, M14, M60, M1 Uzi, AK-47..Etc you cannot tell the difference that it’s an airsoft gun!! Lets face it kids will be kids and all you need is a magic marker to cover up the SAFTY ORANGE tip.

And as a licensed concealed carry pistol permit holder here in N.Y. if anyone pointed an airsoft at me there is going to be an incident. You just cant distinguish real from faux.

I have PLAYED ONE and help coordinate several of the WEST POINT "Big Games"....and I guess since I have been in actual combat I just don’t get it.

If the people that participate in Paintball "Woods Ball" and especially Airsoft knew what actual Operators, Military Personnel and Combat Veterans thought of the whole civilian war game thing these "woods ball" and Airsoft players would be embarrassed to the point that the smart ones would hang it up.

So... anyway to make a long story short as an avid shooter, NRA Life member, and EX-amateur Paintballer its my opinion Stick to Paintball (speedball) get some exercise by running the bunkers... War isn’t fun it is just glorified by Hollywood and these Airsoft fields to name a few.

Airsoft should be kept in Japan where it originated from where they can’t own the firearms that we can. Why don’t you try spending your $$ on some real firearms those airsoft gun can get up there in price. Buy the real deal AND…
Keep "AIRSOFT" to the "AMERICAN WANT TO BE" Japanese.

Doc

Ok, where to start.

I do not need a knife but it is a very useful tool and besides I can use it for a multitude of other tasks.

I can say that I have never and would never point any faux weapon at a law enforcement officer or a civilian. And yes, I have heard of people pulling an Airsoft pistol on cops and have been peppered, beaten with night sticks or shot. That is why if I buy an Airsoft weapon I would carry it in its case. I would not use such a device for vandalism or for ilegal activity as that is not my personality.

What you said about Airsoft bearing no correlation to actual combat is entirely correct. But, in my opinion, who cares? It is a bunch of friends working together and having a great time. I am not a fan of war, nor am I violence junky, I just think it is a great thing to do with friends, that is all. War is (In my opinion) not good, but necessary for the human race.
**This is becoming more hypothetical/philisophical than Busse Combatish**

Why dont I buy a real H&K PSG1? Because I cannot legaly do that because of age and the fact that I reside in Canada. If Airsoft is just an attempt for the Japanese to idolise Americans then why do you think this sport has grown in popularity? It is a lot of fun but it does, as you said, promote violence. Paintball is fun, but I like Airsoft for exactly the reasons you bring up. Airsoft weapons are more realistic and (In my opinion) more fun.
