Guys, a site called www.quickknife.com stole me 133.89$.

This was the first knife i bought, before finding out about new graham and 888knivesrus...
After some waiting they sent me an email apologizing for the late and saying they couldn't send the knife with usps (false, Danny did it) and now they have my money and they don't answer emails. As you can understand I am sorry about this... Legally I have anything to force them give me back my money.
Is there anyone of you that can help me out with this?
I thank you for your attention and for the help you give.

Since "Yahoo" is involved as a pass through/merchant you might send them an e-mail detailing your problems. Yahoo will not like thier name being involved in a bad business deal. Hope you get it straghtened out.

Because QuickKnife.com sells more that balisongs, I'm moving this thread to The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly forum for greater exposure.

You didn't mention how long they have been ignoring email from you Bustard..., but the first thing I would do is grab yourself an International calling card and give them a call. Their number is listed here: http://www.quickknife.com/info.html

Let us know what happens ..., and good luck...

How did you pay for the knife? If you used a credit card, call the card issuer and reverse the charges.

What I forgot to mention up in the first post is that all this story started 2 month ago. Enough to start being worried I assume...

Ok. This is what happened one hour ago.
I sent another email (I can post what I wrote if needed) saying that what they did is not nice and that I wanted my money back. I added that I would have told about theyr behavior to yahoo.

They answered 5 minutes later telling they are going to refund me, but they still didn't refund.
I'll post here as soon as they give me my money.

Wam03: I already thought to do that but my bank already give them the money, cause they waited 2 month and my bank pays every month.

Examonlyf: I can't speak english good enough to have an argument by phone, that's why I didn't call already...

Gollnick: Thank you for moving the thread in a better and more visited forum, this will help not only me, but everyone who wanted to buy from that store.

Everyone else: thank you for your support, I knew I could count on you...

If you have not got your goods the Bank can still reclaim the money from their account - this is normal practice for the big card companies such as VISA and Mastercard. Call them and ask! Even if you have paid the card bill, it should not be a problem.

In a situation like this, another thing that I really like about getting the credit card company to reverse the transaction is that QuickKnife will have to pay a large penalty for the reversal.

Email them again and tell them that if they don't refund your money immediately you will be contacting your credit card company to have the transaction reversed. Tell them you will give them 24 hours. That is all they should need. Check with your CC company on how long it should take for the reversal to show up. If nothing has happened by that time follow through on the charge reversal.

Our friend Mr. Montgomery makes, as he often does, an excellent point. Credit card companies track how many reversals a company incurs. If a merchant's rate gets to high, the credit card company will close their merchant account. If you're a .com, your merchant account is your sole lifeline.

Here's another way to spot a less-than-serious knife dealer: their website is full of advertising for other companies. At one point while exploring their website, I had three of four pop-up windows opening with ads for other businesses. A business that's serious about selling knives will use their website to do that. They won't sell advertising space on their site to other businesses.

Yes, call your credit card 1-800 # and ask for a dispute form, fill it out and send it in, they will get back to you after they take it up with quickknife i'm sure. I have done it, it takes a while, but well worth the hassle IMO, i got my money back.

First off, you've got 90 days to dispute a charge with VISA or Mastercard. You don't have to have a dispute form at all. All you need to do is write a letter to your card issuer with the details of why you are disputing the charge. Be sure you include your account information and sign the letter. It's very important to state in the letter that you have already contacted the company and that they have made no attempt to correct the problem. If you wait more then the 90 days, your issuer will probably try a good faith attempt to recover the money. But no recoveries are guaranteed. It's always important to get your dispute letter to the issuer as soon as possible.

Riccardo Sonsini, good luck in getting your money back! :)

Ive only had one experience with someone ripping me off, I did how ever get my money back.

Smart thing to do is to save EVERY email message between yourself and the seller(s).

Thanks for your help guys, the seller refunded me some minutes ago.
It seems that what took them to the decision is my threat to tell yahoo.
The suggestion about the credit card was right, it could be done, but mastercard couldn't tell me last night if I am able to do it, 'cause I didn't have my cc number while at the phone... And I couldn't do it 'cause the seller wanted to pay, and this is kind of an emergency movement...
Anyway I thank everyone. You have been my force.

I'll never buy anything from shops that are not trusted by all of you, but that was not only my first knife, but my first internet deal too, so i've learned my lesson...

Again, thanks :)

Oh $H!T, I just placed an order through QuickKnife earlier this evening! Has anyone had GOOD service from them?

I wish I had read this thread just a couple of hours ago! Well, I will be bird-dogging this order for sure.

There is nothing like having 15,000 tuned in formite to back up every transaction. :D

Better luck on your next deal. Most of the stuff I have done on the internet has gone very smoothly.

It stated that if you use an ATM card with the visa etc logo and make a purchase over the phone or on line, you do not automatically get the same protection you get with a regular credit card.
It would be a good idea to check with yoru bank if you are using a bank card rather than a regular credit card to ascertain what kind of refunds you can get from a merchant who does not deliver.

jerrinfla....you are 100% right and i just learned this the hard way. The bank cards with the Visa/Mastercard logo are not handled the same as "credit cards". If you use a credit card and the transaction is with a merchant (I think 150 miles from your home) or by catalog or internet you have some very good chances of getting the money credited to your account if there is a problem and you never received the goods. The ATM/Visa/Mastercard is a total crapshoot....the banks claim that this is actually cash and once the money is removed from the account, your only right is that of a lawsuit (yeah right....like anyone can sue someone 1,000 miles away). If you are a good customer (translation....a lot of cash in the account) then they offer to assist you in investigating. But there are no guarantees. They don't print this in large letters when you receive the card, but they claim it is somewhere in the customer agreement. I personally might lose over $300 on an internet transaction recently....it is still not settled because I didn't use a credit card, it was a Visa logo card, but not a "credit card". Over 90 days have gone by and they still claim they cannot credit the account because they don't want to take the loss and Visa won't reimburse them on this type of card.

FWIW, although I was alarmed by the experience of Bustard, my QuickKnife purchase arrived in less than 7 days, in good shape, at the price quoted. No issues.

To be fair, thought I should post this follow-up.
