Very nice knives, Shenny. Welcome to the forums. Hopefully we'll get to see more of your work in the future.

ANother thread just got closed because of counterfeits; why praise them here?...

Thanks for the heads up brother. Just got a little fired up. My bad

Yes, I completely agree FA and threads featuring copycats goods are :thumbdn: despite how "well" some people say the knives perform.

牛b,在外国的论坛上终于看到中国人了啊!
幸会!

Google translated.
"Cattle in the foreign forum finally see the Chinese people, ah! Nice to meet you"

Explain what you mean by "cattle" ?

1234,,,

It's a slang exclamation. Not to be directly translated. The actual direct translation is slightly more vulgar. Google "牛b" if you wish (Wikitionary - Adjective #2).

Should we feel insulted ?

My X-man power of character/intention judgement tells me the OP meant no harm with this comment or his original posts. Methinks the language barrier mixed with a complete underestimation for our forum's level of discernment and sophistication when it comes to knowing our stuff (design borrowing and production vs. custom) is the real culprit here. Just my .02.

Make love, not war (this coming from a pistol and knife totin' Appalachian American). :)

Prof.

Well, not really. He posts one original design and one Boker knockoff, but they look like nice knives nonetheless.

The Applegate Fairbarn. It's been copied by, or given inspiration to, probably dozens of other makers/companies from countries all over the world. In my opinion, that is not nearly the same thing as those companies which copy a knife down to the logo. One is outright theft and the other, at least as I see it, is a slippery slope. There is nothing new under the sun and all of that.

No translation requested here : it's No , No and NO.

:thumbdn: Isn't that the same guy that started the thread "If knife too expensive you buy fake" I thought he was fishing for customers...How hard would it be to design your own knife and produce it ??? on the original design, but that company would never get my business from the Blatant copies that they've made of other knives.

Yes.

Hey shenny shoot me an email I have the perfect place you could sell a ton of those strider/tad knives and make lots and lots of money, wheres a hint, the guys over there really like green, I mean really like green, They would love you to death over there, I really suggest you check it out, send me an email to find out where I'm talking about. You will also be able to explain to the owners of Strider why you stole their designs....

Just a word of note to those that support counterfeiters by importing branded fake items into the USA for resale here.
You stand the chance of taking the fall for these guys while they make all the money.
While prosecution can take years of investigation and is somewhat spotty, it does happen. The legal ramifications can be quite severe.

No offense was given. A more accurate translation of his post would be:
"Awesome! Another Chinese user on a U.S. forum! Nice to meet you!"

Online translators are pretty much useless for slang and vernacular.

Glad to know they're getting some serious jail time !

The second link is a good read. I wish most understood how counterfeits can hurt us. I feel some here on BF don't understand this.
Counterfeit and pirated goods pose a serious threat to America’s economic vitality

Notice where 72% of all foreign counterfeit commodities come from...........
Don't think it hurting the economy?...sadly mistaken.

It's been hurting the economy a long time, but the USA based manufacturers have taken the technology overseas to make nearly everything we use. All in the name of cheap labor and we've voted for it with our money. So, it goes much deeper than fake knives.
