I Blame Emojis For The Impending Death Of Conversation! . . .

Hard to beat Laphroaig 10 at $41. Machir Bay by Kilchoman was my flat out favorite sub $50 at 39.99, untill about a year and a half ago now dang thing is 60ish.

A bit of a life hack, but total whine is sometimes next to Costco, if that's the case than that costco and that total whine will have the lowest prices in your neighborhood within their respective chains.

Wee bestie....makes Ardbeg 10 at just $10 more a much better buy.
That's nearly the case at my local stores, they’re nearly right across the street from each other, and my Costco is one of the few in town that (due to stupid state liquor laws) sells hard alcohol.

Unfortunately, so far since that TW has opened, it has meant that my Costco has RAISED their prices to match Total Wine. 🤬 :poop:  WTF!?!?!?

Well hopefully TW will lower their prices to compete with costco over time. That sucks though.

Costco, wadsworth and park meadows both have inside liquor stores. Costco on santa fe has an attached liquor store that is not costco.

I can see that costco raised prices slightly due to total. But both places are still the cheapest in the area. Total wines private barrel of woodford double oak is one of the best bourbons I've had anywhere near its price. Total wine typically beats the competition and you get points back and a chance at rare bottles. For example, they called me 4 weeks ago for thefirst come first serve grand reserve event. I didnt show up early and walked out with s weller full proof for 69 bucks. There is lots of liquor stores in the area.though. i have found old dusties in many places in colorado. Lots of competition.

Wow....and here I was happy I managed to snag full proof and antique at around $110...I need to get on the their lists...

Costco here was selling blanton's for like 40 bucks this summer...that made news and did last long...

If I had seen blantons for 40 bucks, I would have bought a case.

Oh and $110 for both FP and Antique is a great deal.

I drive by both the Wadsworth/Quincy store and the Riverpoint store off Santa Fe on a daily basis during the work week. The Riverpoint store closed that outside liquor store (didn't renew their lease) like last summer. Unfortunate, as they had the lowest prices on a number of items anywhere I'd found (to include Costco on Wadsworth), and I had developed a good relationship with them. I bought the last 6 bottles of their Blue Note Juke Joint survivor barrel bottles. Yum!

Wadsworth is the one by me that sells hard liquor (Santa Fe no longer does with that outside store closure, dumb laws). ~2 weeks ago before my 3 Lakes fishing tournament boys weekend at Granby, I literally priced several different bottles of tequila and bourbon, and prices were all within a PENNY with a single exception, which was $0.99 cheaper at Total on Wadsworth/Belleview. I did find a nice EH Taylor barrel aged anejo Corazon tequila at Costco though for pretty reasonable price.

Costco on Wadsworth used to be the cheapest around, by far, until they raised their prices with Total Wine moving in. I still do not understand what they are doing there, and Dawn, the alcohol buyer for our local Costco's, will not discuss it. Quite frustrating.

So far I haven't gotten "in" with the folks at the Total Wine on Wadsworth. I am in the rewards club, I get emails for that all the time. However, I never get notified of any of their special offerings (no calls, emails, texts, nothing), despite having tried to sign up like 5 times now. I always ask if they have any special bottles, any Weller or Blanton's, etc. and they always say everything they have is out on the shelf. Sure. BS.

I still have a hook-up at Tipsy's/Bevy's where I can occasionally get a Blanton's or Weller, but that's been getting a lot harder recently too.

On a brighter note, we enjoyed a few sips from a bottle of Old Forester Birthday Batch that weekend on the fishing trip. 😍

Yeah, they were supposed to get that at my store (Wadsworth/Quincy Cobalt Cobalt ) over the summer too, as a guy stocking shelves confided in me while we were chatting whiskey one day. I had the item number and a stock sheet print out he gave me, and for 2 weeks I stopped in every day (sometimes twice a day), and called at least twice a day waiting for it, but it never hit the floor. Finally, the computer system said they had gotten 2 cases in, but they were never put out to sell. I suspect the employees snaked all of it (or it sold out the back door at a markup 💩).

That sucks. I didnt think costco did that. Oh well. It never hit my costco. Or if it did I missed it.

On a different note if u guys want a blazing scotch that few people know about. Its the glen grant cask strength. Its only 70 bucks and it is amazing. The regular glen grant is really good as well. The 15 and the 18 are both excellent. Most people go right by it on the shelf. If u see it you may want to try it.

I'm drinking a bottle of what appears to be a very thick vodka. I don't have my glasses with me but I think the name on the bottle is
"German" something. . . . .

It's a weird bottle with a pump on top. I imagine that it's some kind of newfangled shot dispenser!

I'm mixing it with my diet Mountain Dew and getting busy!

Let's Drink!
