I blame you guys, I really do...

Nice collection you have there.

Like you, I found out the hard way that the 'Traditional' board is actually a gateway drug to serious slipjoint addiction. I've caught my pale, anorexic wallet wandering the streets offering to trade oral favors for knives on more than one occasion since I wandered in here.

It is nice to find fellow addicts to share the affliction with!

Kind of like having a favorite bar where yoou hang out with people of similar ilk.

My name is Carl, and I am one of the afflicted!

:D

Nah! You can't blame all that on us guys. We are a bad influence on some folks, but you are part of the problem here, actually the bigger part of the problem. That being said, I feel you are causing several members here to have irresistable urgings to go get one or more duplicates of what you have in that fabulous collection. I might be one of those members.

So, encouraging you - perhaps. Causing it - I don't think so. You have contracted a particularly virulent strain of traditional knife-itis. You need help.

Please limit the images (for this sub-forum) to Traditional Knives...thanks

Gotta love it. A tactical warning! I think there were enough flippers in some of those shots for an infraction! :grumpy:

I left the ones posed in group shots with the traditional knives, Hal, but the ones posted on their own got kicked to the curb. ;)

(Not to say they were unworthy in any way, just inappropriate for this forum is all.)

Didn't have the heart to hand out an infraction, there was just too much exuberance to do anything but smile at...

LOL @ Blues! Whittlers and peanut coming... uploading now...

Oh, and, Thawk, holy cow man! I am (almost) humbled...:D

In all reality, it's my wife's fault. Shortly after we met 23 years ago, she commented "you sure have a lot of knives, we should go to the flea market and get a display case!" We did, I gathered them all together, and there were 99 knives. I still have a lof of them, but many more have come and gone. She has remained.

"Faux MOP" is affectionately known as MOTS (Mother Of Toilet Seat) around these parts. ;)

It's a purdy little crapper for sure, I picked it up many years ago in Sevierville, TN... that and several more! That place is like a Mexican pharmacy, if you want the drug, they have it!

This one is an anomoly to me, it looks like faux MOP in CV...

QUOTE]

I can't remember the source, but I am sure I remember that Frost obtained some yellow CV slippies from Case and re-scaled them in various acrylic or celluloid scales. I have, I think, 4 more knives like that. The baby butterbean I gave away for my 100 post GA was one of them. Notice the scales do not have pins. This is a "characteristic" of those knives. Here's my example as a comparison. (It's not faux MOP though).

I will be doing another GA in a few days. Not sure if I'm going to choose one of them or one of my stockman knives for that giveaway and not sure the knife will be Case this time. It will probably be a Bulldog or Fighting Rooster. I've got to figure this out pretty soon as I don't have many posts left to 200.
