I Bought The Best ZT Knife I Have Ever Owned!

Never met a ZT I didn't like. They all seem to be well made. I only have a 0900 right now and love the overall feel of it, maybe a bit heavy though could use a carbon scale on it.

I have been wishing and dreaming about this for years! I prefer smaller knives for my EDC office carry and even though the 0562cf disappears in the pocket and carries nicely it's still a little large. I won't buy a current 0566 because it's unfortunately assisted and yes I know you can de-assist it but I've heard it's not the same.....

Come on ZT, give us a de-assisted 0566 TI
I must be the only one who likes assisted knives. What do people dislike about them?

I'm still lovin my ZT 0393glcf. Kinda makes me want another hinderer designed ZT.
So the 0562 is probably next on the list.

I personally don't like them because If a knife has a good detent you shouldn't need an assist. ZT can make amazing knives with Manual actions so I don't understand why they would make a knife with an assist. It just seems like a lazy way to get a "good" detent.

^^All that, and I also hate having to squeeze-close the knife. Some see it as a safety feature, I see it as the opposite.
It’s also more parts, more weight, more to grease etc.
The action just feels so blah compared to a great manual like the 0562, 0452, 0393, 0095 etc.
I’m tellin’ ya, if ZT ever makes a Ti-frame, non-assist 0566, it’s going to rock.
Much lighter, a real action, drop shut speed etc. - quite possibly the best EDC ever made.

Yes, it's an old pic, but I like showing it off :p

That is just so awesome

Closing them. I thought an assisted knife was the greatest thing ever when I bought my first Kershaw Leek. Then I handled a non assisted ZT 0450cf and my mind was instantly changed.

I own many manual and AO folders. I can have difficulty opening some manuals because of the relationship between the geometry of the knife and the size of my hand and the nature of the detent BUT I have NEVER had a problem opening any AO of any size.

This doesn't mean that I prefer AOs to manuals BUT I know to carry only those manuals that I do not have any difficulty opening. The other manuals are just safe queens that stay in my collection because I like them even though I'll never carry them. This is not a problem for me because, as a collector, I carry relatively few of my knives anyway and I have more than enough knives to choose from that I prefer to carry.
