I broke my Skeleton Key

Instead of regrinding the blade and using it in the shop, why don't you create a "wall of shame". It could be used to demonstrate the abuse that Busse knives can endure. Actually, it might only be a "picture frame of shame". I don't know how many broken knives have been returned, but the only other one I remember is the Basic 7 that Cliff Stamp broke.

I didn't read all the posts, so if I stepped on anyone's toes, I apologize.

Infi can be abused?
Now I'm really confused. Please don't tell me that we must handle Infi with kid gloves. Why is Infi better than other steels if we have to be carefull how we use it? Abused, confused, getting boozed! :D

I think we should all drink what we drink, smoke what we smoke and talk about what matters. MORE INIFI

RJD, you can have your opinions and judge others all you want...but damm this really pisses me off. To participate in a great community like this and then tell another member that his opinion doesn't mean squat is BS.

Get off your high horse.

Just my 2 cents.

360,

First of all, I didn't tell anyone that his opinion doesn't mean squat as you stated. I merely agreed with the poster. Please don't credit me for anything I didn't say. Okay? If I wanted to piss someone off, believe me I could do a lot better than that.

Aight, here's my thing:

1) This is the Busse Forum. Stay respectful as this is an unwritten code around here.
2) Things happen, things break. His post wasn't flammatory IMO.
3) Jerry is replacing it, thus it seems that it wasn't "Intentionally" damaged.
4) You won't know what will happen till you try. (Kicking... I probably would have and would've done the same post.)

People get drunk, infi rarely breaks and this is a brotherhood. Let's just chalk this one up as "HOLY CRAP!!! That is nuts" and get back to drinking and having a good time.:D

Let's not get our shorts in a bunch!

I have discovered many years ago that no matter how hard you try, someone will mis-read and/or misunderstand what you wrote.

Oh please... read the original post and the response and then do the math.

(Just my 2 cents FWIW, which is probably less than nothing )

By the way, this is the only part of your post that I can agree with you on.

The idea may not have been stated explicity, but the tone and implication had the same weight.

Unbunching my shorts now...

Oh yeah, and I blame Porkerson!!!

Way to go Jerry!

When I attempt to pierce my engine block with my Busse fillet knife, I'll be in touch. :D :D :D

WAY TO GO JERRY!!!! I never use my knives even close to that hard and have never done a cinderblock job on any of my infi pieces. My uncle has but I havent. Whether it was intentional or not is beyond me and well I think its just our nature to see what our toys will do(even if we think we MIGHT break them).

The thing that I took away from this post was that break...lookin at that break and the angle of that break made me even more confident in my INFI. It had to go a darn far ways to snap.

That is one nasty cinderblock. I hope you took revenge on it afterwards. Propane tank and a 12 gauge comes to mind.

EDITED FOR INAPPROPRIATE MATTER

Oops, sorry m. Thought that might have been borderline. Was just trying to lighten the mood in this thread. :o

Ok i gotta ask what is that from???

Think girls, in underwear, group hugging. :D

Sorry to bring up this old thread...But I did have a question. If I remember correctly Jerry Busse used to have something that said something to this effect..."The knives have 100% warranty against intentional abuse. Even if you modify the blade, they'll warranty the parts that are not modified. So if you switch out the handle yourself, everything but that handle is covered.." Am I correct, or am I just imagining it?

Instead of "Intentional Abuse". . . .It should read "UNINTENTIONAL MAJOR DAMAGE" . . . Other than that, you are pretty much on the money!

  That could give a whole new meaning to Skeletonized knife! A fella could carve some pretty nifty stuff in a blade with one of those! :D

By the way, the fellow who broke his SK giving the excuse of seeing me hammer my SHe through a car hood is "apples and oranges" The SHe and SK have very little in common but for the same maker!!!:grumpy: My SHe is over 1/4" thick, 7" blade, and made for abuse.

If you saw me drive my SHe into my skull, would you????? ;) :o with the ragweed around here going friggin nuts I'd do anything to relieve the sinus pressure!:(

Hey! I just realized! I'm a bad influence!!!!!! Whooo Hooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!:o

I just wanted to thank GarySoneji for breaking his SK, after I saw what that little knife could do, I was on a mission to get 1...well I ended up with 3! So thanks Gary, and Jerry for standing behind your product.

I really want a SK but havent seen any at the CS for a while...are they gone now?
