Crossbows are fun... sorta, they are a LOT more work than either a bow or a gun. The one I played with had this crank thing where you had to pull the hook and latch it to the string then wind the crank to cock the string before you put the bolt in. However I also was "shooting" a crossbow at something ridiculous like 1400 ft/sec. The bolt was getting buried up to the fletching in the targets from 30 yards.
