I can't describe how disappointed I am

First the mailman doesn't deliver the parcel slip, so I dont even know it's arrived until I receive a final notice warning telling me they're going to throw it away in a week.

Then I go down to the post office to pick it up...

Wow, this box has been severely abused. Good thing Norm always packs well when he sends me stuff...

 apparently it should have been packed inside a steel case.

Obviously this had nothing to do with Norm. This package was abused well beyond anything you can call reasonable. Worst of all, I bought this as a birthday present to myself, and it's been a long time in coming. I'm just... angry and spent.

That is terrible. I second the suggestion on checking on insurance and filing a claim with the carrier. (If you paid by credit card, you may be able to pursue some sort of claim through them.) Good luck.

Fortunately it was insured, but for some reason only the sender is allowed to make the claim. (???)

I'll have to wait and see what happens when Norm gives them a poke.

I had a blowgun arrive once that was bent at a 90 degree angle. And the bolos I bought from ROA arrived over a month late with the box looking like it had been through a world war, fortunately the blades were fine.

Man, what a bummer. Is the blade broken inside the scabbard, or just bent? Maybe something can be salvaged, even if it is a little shorter now. Hopefully they don't give you guys any trouble with the insurance claim.

Thats some bullcrap, you need that replaced and them some:mad: by the postal service. that does look intentionally bent and not at all like an accident.

As near as I can tell it is bent and not broken. It does not rattle when shaken, and nothing budges when I tug on the handle.

Once the claims process has gone through I will see what can be done about straightening/salvaging this mess, but not before then.

oh man, I just missed getting that one too. I woulda just drove over to his place to get it.

That's a shame.

That's a HI Napolean Sword, I am guessing...

 Monkeys. :( It does almost look deliberate.

I had a blade never arrive (from another forum). Finally went to PO a month later. "No, we don't have a package for you. You'd have gotten a slip." I insisted they look. When the guy came back out holding a package- my long-lost blade- I was so happy I forgot to be mad.

Not this case. :(

I guess if the box had been leaning on something, a blow at the right angle could have done the damage. One likes to think it was unintentional, but who knows. It still doesn't undo what has been done. :(

Never under-estimate the ability of an idiot in the shipping chain to destroy something.

Perhaps someone was planning to steal it, and in an effort to save itself for the right person, it committed suicide.

Sorry to see this...but it's no surprise. I worry every time I mail anything.

OK now that really stinks!! How many Napoleon Swords did Bura make anyways, maybe 5 max I've seen?

That was done on purpose.

Just my personal experiences speaking. All shippers, USPS and private, have butthole types that take out frustrations on parcels.
