I can't help myself, Craig's Sambar Stag Collection by Joe Houser.

That is an absolutely beautiful collection and I would say you're extremely lucky but I think Craig couldn't of picked a more appreciative member. That brings me to something else ive been wanting to say since the other day........

GPyro GPyro since this is your thread I think this is an appropriate place to say this. I hope you don't mind. Thank you for being a great forum member and showing that in your actions. I seen your sales thread the other day when it went up and I see you got one of those beautiful 117s. I guess you decided I wasn't for you or whatever but you put a very limited knife up for sale without trying to make a killer profit off your fellow members. I see so many people on here claim to be "upstanding" members but when those limited spydercos come out they have the first sales thread selling it at a 300% markup saying "this just isn't for me" lol. So thanks and sorry for the derailment. Hope it's ok:D:D:D

Thanks.
Well,... it did come with the freebie knife, I figured I could keep that.
Thanks BR, I believe in Karma. :), …… and you don't screw over your best resource.
Still, I figured someone here may have missed out on it and wanted one.
Sorta a win/win. I'll give it a few more days and then just return it.

PS.
I sorta missed you when you were gone awhile back. Glad your around!

You don’t see that style of stag handle with the wood inserts very often. I can’t recall anybody but Buck doing it that way. They certainly are beautiful.

I started a stag set but they are in the round, and not all are from the factory. I love stag knife grips. But found out my heirs are not fans. Lol. They don’t even ask to borrow my knife if it’s stag. I guess it skeeves them out.

Dang nice knives ,Joe knows im a hunter and knows what I would do with each one of those knives lol.Theyboook awesome, but I just can't help but wonder how much Id love to use a set like that for their intended use ,back when those blades were made I don't think anyone was collecting like they do now, those were meant as user knives.

They look too fancy to use now,but I bet thry would do outstanding next to today's " super steels"

agreed, I dont have time to hunt but do manage to get some fishing in. I would use the standard production knives for cleaning game. that set is incredible and Im sure they would perform as well.

Ed, I don't know what this means?

the “m” got left off of them. Stag skeeves my kids out. Gives them the willies. Grosses them out. They just don’t like touching it. I don’t know why. I couldn’t figure out why there were some guns and knives of mine they won’t use. Finally figured they just don’t like touching antlers. Go figure.

Lol! It’s probably from before your time. Young fellow.

I looked it up.
Dictionary says it’s 1980’s slang. I thought it came from the trenches of ww1. But that word is scabies. A parasitic skin worm.

I've raised an eyebrow or 2 myself for my choice of hunting knives.
I used to hunt with a custom Damascus skinner from a knife maker here in Michigan, just for the heck of it.

Actually the wife bought it for me... I can sorta blame her for starting all this Ha. Actually I'm lucky. She's really cool with it all.
(yeah it's not a Buck, but it did start my collection. and it got used a number of years!)

These stags won't go outside much. But I'll be damned if I'm gonna hide 'em in a box either...… I'll figure something out.

Well thanks, the doc finally okd me to go back to work full time after a year and a half so I've been working every hour I can to try and get caught up on everything we got behind on because of me. I was still lurking but didn't really have time to interact much.

Karma definitely is real lol. That pine cone handle looks great on that knife. I always liked the different designs they can get from stabilizing them.
