i was actualy riding a freebord which acts like a snow board. i was cruzing around 40 mph when i caught an edge. and because the board has bindings i through me into the street.

Hello JT,

Hope you heal fast! Broke that same bone in my hand along with my wrist while skateboarding in a pool in the 70's. Had the board strapped to my feet with bicycle inner tubes. Hope you were smarter than that! Take care man.

Eric

There is a time in your life when you realize you can't do that stuff anymore...... welcome to it. :) Get better soon.

Hope You Heal Up & Hair Over Real Fast!
How 'bout some pictures???
What were you trying to land???

Sorry to hear that JT. I almost bought a free board a while ago. I decided I needed a new mountain bike instead.

I bet that Provo River trail would be awesome on a freeboard. The last time I went down the canyon on my old rollerblades I burned out a set of wheels. Literally melted the wheels off the hub. My old skates I would rocker the wheels when I played street hockey. I had played, and we went up the canyon and no one had a tool to un rocker them. Oops.

I am not as young and spry as I used to be. The last time I went skating was to take my son and teach him to ride a bike (with training wheels of course).

I have broken a finger on my skates.

As I get older, I realize I am not as young anymore. I am much fatter and take much harder falls. Spokane got 6 feet of snow this winter in one long storm. The snow total here in town was 98" this season and I don't think there will be a better winter for a generation..........I did not go snow boarding once this season. Just too fat and old I guess. I was so out of shape I was worried about really injuring my self.

Jt sorry to hear what you did. just like what your mom and dad would tell you and that's for kids, cause they mend easier.
sorry dude
vern

JT, I just sent you an email, and then saw this thread. Man, that is bad news. Take care of yourself, and let it heal fully. Don't do any strenuous work on the hand until the Doc says it is ready for the strain. Bubba Doll will have to feed you home made chicken soup to get you well.
Take care, buddy,
Stacy

Sorry to hear that Jarod. I hope you mend up well.

I'm not that much older than you and my hands hurt from time to time, and I've never broke them. Take it easy for a while, and perhaps they won't give you trouble when you're older.

Man, that stinks. Sorry to hear it. I just bought Mountain bikes last week.

Dude that sucks!
I gave up skateboarding in 1978 when my Bigfoot skateboard wheel caught a patch of gravel and dug in (I lost a quarter inch of shoulder meat and had rocks coming out of my skin for years)
Hope your hand gets better soon, don't push it! I'm still feeling a broken wrist from 1991 hands are delicate!
I agree with Sam :D
