I Challenge Thee (to an EDC Challenge)

It also fascinates me that just a few short decades ago the Buck110 was state of the flipping art, and the world did not stop because the edge went dull quicker than some super steels, or that you needed two hands to open it, etc.

Yeah, a lot of us had 110's, 112's and 119's back in the 70's along with slip joints, but there wasn't a lot of choices back then unless one went the custom route, things improved over the years.

Most days I only carry one of these:

I'm a teacher, so I rarely encounter anything more daunting than paper.

However, on the weekends, my cool stuff come out.

Just wait until you get past CRKT, and get into mid- and high-range folders...

:D

lol! Already started that trek with the Griptilian that I just purchased. It is a nicer knife than my M16-04Z was, but I liked the size of it. I will probably step up to an Adama folder and will be buying a custom Griptilian.

Your missing the point of the post. Or do you just want it as a status symbol to show off on here and to all your friends, something to make you feel better than others?

I tried three times to reply to this post. Deleted them all. Waste of my time.

You had to know that this thread was going to turn into a pissing contest right from the beginning :D

It's really just a thinly disguised version of the "cheap knife vs Sebenza" threads or something similiar..

Honestly I did not think it would. Thought there was more class in this joint:D

The coolest knife I own!, love the Douk Douk...but for 24/7 365 the Opinel beats it out for me. The Douk Douk is not a good winter outdoors knife. but when it warms up and the snow melts it will be back in my pocket on the weekends for sure.

Thats like asking me to spend a week with some gal (s) that I on occasion(s) would pick up at closing time:)

Great idea.. but I have upgraded my standards in both knives and the opposite sex...

...if you were drunk enough... I agree.

Hey Bobnery...have you ever read this?

Once you read his report, you won't have to ask the question...

I carry an Opinel everyday, I love it. I also carry a Delica 4 though, use the Opinel on food and the Delica for non-food items.

I would try the challenge, except that I can't make it a whole week with any knife - spendy or not. But I like the idea of carry a cheapy for a while if for no other reason to remind you how nice the good stuff is.

Has nothing to do with us not having "class". If a complete stranger make's a challenge for a bunch of knife nuts to carry a $20 knife for a week you're just not going to get many takers. Honestly, I'm supprised if you thought there would be.

I could carry my $20 SAK alox Cadet(only $20 knife I have) for a week, but there is no incentive to do so.

Yea yea have seen many like this. How often do you cut stuff like this daily in large quantities? I have the need quite often to cut tons of cardboard at work, and a box cutter works ten times better than anyyhing else out there. Yes some steels outperfom others, but I'd bet 95 percent of people on here do not cut enough with their EDC carries to ever notice

Afraid to carry and use your "pricier" knives, are you?

Where did you pull that conclusion from what you posted?

Oh and scroll back through this thread alone and see how many people carry and use a cheaper blade before pulling out a more expensive toy.

Then scroll through BF and see how few pics there are of hard use and/or pricier knives that look like they have seen any use.

Notice the smiley face from what you quoted me on it was meant in jest
