Recommendation? I could use some advice: Large easy opening folders

This is a tough one for me. Don't want to admit it but sometimes Arthritis makes it literally a pain to open my folders. Big hands for big blades has been my way for over 40 years.
Looking for plain edge, uncoated)no black blades) 4 inch or close to it but could be longer. Thumb stud preferred. I am trying to get something pre-owned for not more than about $140.00.
I regret selling my Protech TR4 which I had.
Just wanted to see if there are other viable options for me before I start hunting the Protech.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts on this.

Arthritis is the worst, sorry man. I know you said thumbstud, but I find thumb discs easy to open as well. The other thing that is super easy is a button lock. Have you thought about something like that?

Thank you. I never really thought about button locks. Will check them out. Is the thumb disk something like what I have on my CS Spartan? I have a lot of days when the Arthritis isn't so bad and then I can carry anything I have.

Button lock was my first thought seeing as after opening it needs to be easy to close.
Hogue EX-01 is 4".
If it's something you might want...

I didn't know Hogue had the button lock. I'll keep it in mind. Are their blades good "slices"?
I am kicking myself for selling the Protech TR4 I had several years ago.

Could you consider going to a fixed blade? Something discreet, I'm thinking Fiddleback, with more of a gentlemanly look to it. Wood handles, and an inside-the-pocket sheath?

That's a good thought but I have tried a variety of small fixed but can't get comfortable carrying them.

I know you said thumb studs, but would a large thumb hole be ok? I find that the Spyderco thumb holes are the easiest manual opening method.
A great 3.9" blade is the Spy. Manix2XL. Slightly over 140.00.
Looking for a thumb stud opener in your price range, look at the Cold Steel offerings. The CS Recon1 might be the best knife named so far, and you can go online to find the site selling the exclusive satin blades. The large Voyager at about 60.00 is a fine edc/work knife. If you want a very strong knife and don t mind a bit of weight, the 4Max Scout is highly regarded at 110.00.
Look at the Civivi Vexer. I just got it, and though I haven t yet carried it, it seems very well made. 65.00.

I have arthritis in my hands and due to an accident in my youth (old pane of glass cutting my forearm nearly to the bone) I have limited movement in my right thumb. Aside from an auto, the spydie hole works best for me...maybe try a Police model?

Thanks to all for the advice. I was wondering about the Manix 2XL as well. With the Manix could I just use my thumb to one handed open it? I can't use my middle finger to flick it open and don't do well with the Spydie drop open or twist tie method.

I can’t bend my thumb at the first joint, so I just roll spydercos open with the pad. Took a little getting used to, but it works just fine. Don’t even have to think about it.

If thumbholes are an option, and you want a good slicer, Spyderco has many options around 4“. The Manix XL might not be the easiest to close though. How about the Amalgam ? Typically $189, though, but a great knife, and gentle on the eyes of other people ... easy to open via hole or flipper.

I will look into that line. My main challenge when I'm sore is just opening but I use two hands to close. Just one hand has Arthritis at this point.

What about an automatic? Even if illegal, you can probably get a doctors note.
I have often wondered about that but where I live, my State is not the most blade friendly but there worse states even than mine. If I ever do get an auto it would likely be side opening and preferably be both manual and auto capable.
