I don´t like Spyderco, help me!

I think he's lucky. It'll save him a bunch of money and many hours of his life drooling.

Spyderflu is a vicious disease, but I wouldn't have it any other way.

Slowstarter... I understand not being attracted to Spydercos... I was the same way when I started buying Benchmades (which I like very much!). But seeing the appreciation for Spydercos among many who know knives very well made me think that I should consider them. Now that I have opened my mind to them, I've found them to be amazing knives.

Obviously, you have opened your mind to Spydercos so now, it's just a matter of selecting one that appeals in some way to you, likely a low cost model, so you can easily step into Spyderco ownership to see what all the fuss is about.

I have three of them now, Sage 1, G10 Dragonfly, and Persistence. I cannot bring myself to buy a FRN model because the handles just don't appeal to me in any way. But the G10 and CF models are much more appealing to me. I'd suggest you peel $25-30 out of your wallet and pick up a Persistence. The price is very low for such a quality knife and the design is truly one which has been very well thought out. It's a great size for easy, comfortable EDC and cuts magnificently! Give it a go. You've got so little to lose and so much to gain. Here's mine among other items I carry EDC:

Yeah, "Pretty don't cut anything" now I'm a converted Case fan... that first all zytel Delica with the plain blade did it! - the latest is a "Dragonfly" stainless! - I'm not a fan of big knives... and I do have an older Benchmade "Specwar" -which collects age in the drawer! = I'm also a SAK fan! so use what you like but give them a chance first before writing them off!
Peace

When I got into knives a few years ago, I thought I'd be solely a Benchmade guy because of the lefty-friendly AXIS lock. I bought a few Benchmades and still have a 556YEL MiniGrip and a 707, but the others have all gone away.

Spydercos seemed so ugly and the lockback so boring. Like others, I was curious about their popularity and tried for months to like the Delica 4. Meh.

Now I have 14 Spydercos and a long list to go. I mostly carry a CF/ZDP Caly 3 Mon-Fri, and a Stretch II on the weekend. I carry a E4W when I run. Love 'em: grinds, steels, and ergos.

I am not a real fan of Spyderco's design but they build to good a knife to let one feature spoil them for me, looks are not everything. I like Red Heads but i married a Blond, it has worked great for 42 years and counting.

Check out the Stretch, Sage, Gayle Bradley, Paramilitary and Military

I agree, truthfully, if a fella had one of each those models, you'd be set for life.
But, then again, who has the willpower to not want a new Spydie, once in a while. :p

And by "once ina a while" you mean as often as humanly and financially possible withoput destroying the integrity of your family in the process? LOL!
He could always stick to those fantastic M-Tech knives, those are lookers and prices just right at around $12.

My advice is to buy what you like and enjoy.

If you are that curious about Spyderco, maybe buy a less-expenive version and try carrying for awhile.

Spyderco is an acquired taste. A lot of folks, self included, didn't like them based on looks alone, until they started using or carrying. Maybe it's the same for you - maybe not.

I bought 3 Benchmades before I bought my first Spyderco. Since then, I have purchased 4 more Spydercos, and only one more Benchmade. I currently have my eye on 3 more Spydercos, and no Benchmades at all. I guess you could say I've been converted.

Spydercos and Benchmades can be very addictive. I sure don't need any more knives, but that doesn't seem to keep me from doing so and thinking about even more. And I am definitely leaning toward more Spydercos than Benchmades, though I love them both.
