I've never even thought of using my knife as a weapon. The idea of defending myself with a 3 inch blade just sounds like asking for even more trouble. That's what I have a sig p938 on my hip for...

Im a strong supported of I don't carry a knife.
Yup.. Im in it so I can take it down from within.
Most of the statistics they are giving are pretty accurate, however I am unsure if a knife ban would really change anything.

After all knife concealing is as easy as 1-2-3.

They should target the source of crime: which is poverty most of the time.

Note: UK site. The same fools who gave away their guns, and can get prosecuted for defending themselves in a home invastion from known felons.

Beat me to it. Exactly what I was thinking. I don't know if this is some sort of government-backed campaign or what, but this people seem to beleive hat you can have a peaceful society by banning harmful objects. It just not going to happen. The only thing that you achieve is higher crime-reates with more violent crimes.

Wow... I am not even sure how to respond to that site. One part of me is raging and the other part of me is laughing at their ignorance.

On the site there is a long list of illegal knives (illegal in UK, I assume). I opened it and used it as a reference to add a few to my "must have" list.

Some of the illegal knives:
samurai swords
hand-claws
foot-claws
shuriken
kusari-gama
kyoketsu-shoge

I guess they have a large ninja problem in the UK. The Ninja, as an invasive species, has no natural predator in the UK. They could try bringing over Samurai the Ninja's only natural predator.

Katana's (samurai-swords) are allowed if you belong to a Dojo, or are collecting for art purposes. I forget what paperwork you need.

One think I do know. DO NOT mess with customs, or law enforcement if you try to sneak one in without proper permit. They take this stuff really seriously.
Speaking from anecdotal information (a friend traveled to UK with his katana/wakizashi, he belongs to a dojo in America... he had to ship the swords back).

I had to get off the site cuz i was gonna throw my computer threw a wall if i kept reading her garbage, more people die from car accidents so why doesnt she campaign against cars!

If this country keeps going the way its going we could start seeing crap like this here very soon. You see it all the time with people talking about how they need a knife that "wont scare the sheeple." That just was not a problem 20 years ago. Everyone should have a knife and everyone should be able to have what ever sort of knife they want (Barring Felons of course)

Did you not understand my post? All political commentary belongs in the Political Arena forum.

Morrow, could you please tell me how Mr. SpookStrickland's post was political. It was true and I didn't see him bringing up politicians, laws, statues, groups, news papers, web sites, hell anything other than a common observation and belief I am willing to bet is held by the vast majority of the members of this forum. Please explain to me in detail the politics of that statement? For the record if someone cares to search this forum for pocket knife ban it was already tried here in the United States in Hawaii several years ago. Again he wasn't speaking against anyone, any party, any politician, any group or groups, he just made a common observation and stated his opinion and didn't place any blame on one, group, party, etc. either, so what gives?

Morrow, just asking really and please have the courtesy of a reply, I am interested in seeing your explanation as I am sure others are as well.

Thank You in advance

One other thing the website was donated and put together by the Mackman Group which appears to be affiliated with the Rotary International Club, so all you Rotarians on here might aught to check into that.
