I don't get the Sarge7?

Did you try contacting them to see if you can order one with jimping? From what I gather they are very easy to deal with and a semi custom maker and there are many custom busse and kin on the market sugesting they do custom work. Or just jimp it your self. Posting that on here will generate a lot of Bad Response. Just a heads up!

I actually have contacted them but no response so far.
BTW, does anyone have an opinion on the handle shape. Without handling the knife it looks a little like you could slide forward on a defensive thrust attack (against an animal or person).

Please don't buy one then.... :)

That said, we all have an opinion and everyone is (politely) allowed to have and express it. There are certainly some Busse models that don't float my boat.

I for one don't like the jimping on anything. I had the SAR4 and SAR8 and each I took a dremel to and smoothed the sharp edges, NO BIG DEAL . I sold them cause I just like other models better. But, you need to watch that idoit stuff!!!

Just wanted to find out if there were factors I hadn't considered from people who actually have the knife in hand.
BTW the "idiotic" comment has nothing to do with the company but rather the fact the knife is designated survival/rescue which, to me, is all about getting a life or death job done and not so much about looks or even comfort. There are a number of survival rescue knives without jimping but they have handles with much more pronounced ergonomic features designed to prevent sliding forward and aid in control. This probably isn't the knife for me. Thanx everyone.

This:
SAR is Search and Rescue, not survive.

The SARGE is easily my favorite mid-range. I've had Bussekin with+without jimping, and while I do like Busse's particular style of jimping, I do not miss it on the SARGE. The grip is solid, and if you're holding the knife firmly, as you should, your hand should not slide upward on thrusts. THAT SAID, I would have actually preferred more aggressive handle machining, as past models have exhibited, but I'm aware most people felt that was a detraction from the appeal of the SAR series. Eh, no two hogs are alike; cheers!

The gullwing pattern g-10 is some of the most comfortable g-10 I've ever used. It don't get much more ergonomic...

I didn't buy a Pickup truck once because it had a sticker on the tailgate. Idiocy....Idiocy I tell ya!!!

I'm just gonna throw this out there.... if it's a "life or death job" like making a fire, couldn't you just use the edge? I get that it may damage the edge slightly, but you know.... life and death and all. seems silly to freeze to death just to keep 1/8" of your edge pristine...

Jimping Jehoshaphat!
