My Basic 9 and SAR 8 (with jimping) are my most used mid size blades ... the Basic 9 has proper right angled corners on the spine and on the elf choil ... ideal for a fire steel ... the jimping on the SAR8 works the same to negate the rounded aspect of the nuclear treatment ... I like them both ... so just buy a SAR 8 on the secondary market and let the SARGE7 go ....
As for being able to stab with the SAR handle .... you're fine in that regard .... so long as you have decent grip strength .... infact it works a lot better than a NMSFNO .... less depth of blade and less resistance ....
