I don't have a GEC. I have gotten the impression they are high class knives - I hope I can be high class enough to use one.:D

I don't have a GEC . Queens and a few case knives . I had never heard of a GEC until I joined this site.
Thanks for the opportunity !!!

I don't have a GEC! Thanks for that opportunity. Really nice of you!

Actually I've joined Bladeforums not very long ago after lurking for a bit of time. I'm quite new to the knife thing. Always wanted one when I was younger but never got one somehow until soon!

I knew of the brand from french friends and decided to get myself an Opinel #8 bubinga with inox blade. Should arrive in a couple of day and I can't wait to get it!

I really like compagnies (and products) with an history attached to it. Unique ones, by nature, by products, by sucess of failure. Things like that have always appealed me. Opinel is certainly the case.

So I was curious when I saw your thread. Like I said I'm really quite new to the world of knives, don't know much about them and their history (I really like medieval time with all the swords, armor, etc tho!) Didn't know about GEC of course but went to their website (and Wiki) to get more info about them and especially the history of the company. Quite and interesting read actually! So unique! It's nice!

Unlike most here, I had GEC's in the past, but for some reason traded or sold them off for things I thought I wanted more. You folks on this forum are great, with your giveaways and pass-arounds...really make the new guys feel at home and just as welcome here as those who've been here all along. I've definitely got to get some GEC's back into my collection in the future, but for now I think I'll just sit back and wait to see who the lucky winner is of this one.

Wow, gorgeous knife. I just love that scale colour.
I don't have a GEC, or too many traditionals for that matter, so this would make a great addition.

I'm in.

Thank you for the opportunity.

And the generosity just goes on....and on....and on.....
Obviously not an entry, just wanted to say thank you again for your kindness Bob!
Goodluck to those who have entered :)
Cheers! :thumbup::thumbup:

Cool giveaway!

I don't have a GEC.

I have never even touched a GEC. Thank you for this opportunity.

Very cool of you! I don't have a GEC but this is not an entry. The generosity of those here is amazing.

Very generous GAW, especially considering the history of the knife in question. Kudos to you, Bob!!:thumbup:
Not an entry. I've never purchased a GEC product; they're really beyond the knife budget I set for myself. But, being the hypocrite that I am, I had no qualms about accepting GEC knives as gifts from a couple of extremely generous Forum members. They not only gifted me GEC knives, they gave me knives that bore their "personal touches" from modifications they had done. Here are photos (I hope - my internet connection has been incredibly and frustratingly unstable today ) of a buffalo horn GEC 85 with EO notch and reprofiled secondary blade from Paul Hilborn and a 2014 Blade Forums knife (GEC 77 I think?) with fantastic new jigged bone covers installed by Markesharp! The generosity here is astounding, and this GAW from rma100 is another admirable recent example!

I don't own a GEC.
But I'd sure like to. It has just never been in the budget.

There sure has been a lot of generosity around here lately. I'm amazed at all the folks giving knives away and it reminds me of how good people can be, you know?

If I ever win one of these I'm going to start my own, albeit with a more modest offering.

I don't own a GEC.

But I would certainly like to :) GEC is not a brand that was on my radar before I started hanging around the porch, but it certainly is now. Thank you for the opportunity.

Hey there, Bob. Not an entry but good on you for doing this!

BTW, I'm wearing one of my "Old Hundred Collectibles" t-shirts as I type this. :)

Cheers,

Andrew
