I don't think Emerson gets enough love over here

Gotta love the Emersons, I have owned almost all the models, sold some off , but they are probably my favorite brand of knife, simple, plain , and get the job done no need for bells and whistles for this guy, I just need a cutting tool.

My list of models I had and have:
Had...Specwar-A, Mini CQC7A, CQC-10, Mini Commander.
Have...Mini A100, A100, Horseman, CQC7A, Micro Commander.

Hope to get a Mini Roadhouse when they come available.

I have 24 Emersons and everyone of them are absolutely SOLID in terms of lockup. Most of my collecting funds are solely to Emersons now.

I only have one Emerson: the Horseman. And I really dig it. Either I was lucky enough to receive a cherry specimen or the rumours of Emerson's poor fit & finish have been greatly exaggerated. I'd buy another Emerson, fer sher!

Gooeytek, that is one gorgeous blade.... super jealous man :grumpy:

The very first Emerson i picked up was a Mini A100.... A very simple blade but yet elegant and with a very capable design. Before long i had a Mini CQC-15, then a reg CQC-7 then a mini CQC-7 and the list just keeps growing. It doesn't help that the Emerson Factory is 20 min from me  I was there to pick up some screws and some washers when i saw they had an SOCFK... Wasn't long before it was in my pocket and coming home with me. I love how simple yet purpose driven the Emerson lineup is. Tight, solid knives they are.....and there is nothing like having your hand on the ass end of the waved Emerson in your pocket while at an ATM in a dodgey part of town...one hand on the Emerson, the other hand inputting your PIN code. As comforting as a warm blanket (I'm in CA so no CCW for me)

How come no CCW for you? I'm in CA and my county has around 3,000 CCW licenses.

I went on vacation a couple years ago with some family, and I found out my uncle had a small but nice Case collection, and my cousin had a neat looking knife, which shortly after I found out was a CQC-7 copy. So, after hearing about Emersons, I bought a couple different 7s. I liked them, and pimped one, but I wasn't 100% sold one them. Then I got a Reliant, which is now one of my favorites.

I'm in Los Angeles (city and county) I wouldn't even know where to begin on trying to obtain a CCW down here. I have a friend who's a gun rights attorney, If i see him at the next gun / knife show (later this month) i'll ask him about it.

Emerson knives just work, plain and simple. Most of the models manage to do that looking pretty bad ass in the process. I personally have not had any performance issues with the numerous Emerson's I have owned over the past few years. An occasional fit/finish issue maybe. But I do know that if an issue were to arise EKI would back that knife 100%.

Here's a few pics of my HD-7 that has barely left my side since I've owned it.

Off topic(sort of), but do you guys prefer the CQC-8 or the Commander? Can't decide on which to try. :)

CQC-8 gets my vote. I'm fairly critical of Emerson knives, particularly at the price point, but the CQC-8 is one instance where I fell in love with the design and was willing to overpay.

That sucks for you. I live in northern redneck-CA, we love our guns. And CCWs are handed out for almost any reason.

To me it's a knife's Knife, if that makes any sense.

That makes perfect sense to me. It's the same way I feel about Emersons. Before I came to this forum I only had a pair of Gerbers that weren't standing up to what I needed in a knife. I did my research on a few different brands(Benchmade, SOG, Cold Steel, CRKT, Spyderco, Buck, Emerson, and maybe a few others.) I wanted something that would last me a long time because it was just a handy/necessary tool to me. The deciding factor- the use of flat head and philips screws, and the Wave feature. After I saw the Wave it was just a matter of choosing which model I wanted. Having never seen one in person I measured the gerbers for a reference and decided on a Mini CQC 15. Perfect decision for my first quality knife.

A knife's Knife and a light's Light.

I like Ernie's knives. I had a nice CQC-7V but sold it. I just bought a 3" MicroCommander for a grandson, and it's so nice that I'm planning to buy one for myself; either a Micro or Mini Commander.

They're fine knives, but they just don't speak to me personally as much as some others in the same price range.

I remember what a gentleman ernie was when he was over here; that and the fanboys are enough to keep me from buying one of his knives.

I love Emerson's myself even though I don't have one. This is because I'm left handed and sadly have never seen one set up for left hand carry. Not sure how much trouble it would be to drill and tap the screws for it. It should be fairly simple, just keeping them lined up with the others would be troublesome.

The CQC-12 is a fine knife, and gets into the rotation a certain amount.
I have said exactly what I think about the F&F issues, but the CQC-12 is a good knife.
