Bummer -- blade damage always sucks, I had the opposite problem... knocked my Busse ASH-1 off the kitchen island and chipped the edge of the stone tile -- no damage to the blade. Can"t say whether the INFI steel hit blade down but i like to think so.

Only time I have dropped a quality knife was my Benchmade 710 in M390... Right on the tip onto the ceramic type tile. It messed up the tip a little bit but chipped the tile pretty good

I feel your Pain !!! In the past month or so I dropped a manix 2 xhp snapping off the tip and mi hinderer 3" xm-18 rolling the edge On the belly :(

I have wood floors.. my girlfriend asked to see my new rodent solution and it stabbed right into the floor and stayed point down dug in there. glad it wasnt a foot lol

Thats nothing! I was expecting much more serious damage to the tip...Couple of strokes on a stone and itll be as good as new.

i have the sharp maker stones in the washer now,,when they are dont gonna hit the knife on the greys @ 30 deg, just the tip area

it kinda mushroomed the tip, got it pretty much fixed in 5 minutes,,,,gotta spend a bit more time,,,

Spydies aren't hard use knives?.....first I heard of that.

I wouldn't consider the Delica a very hard use blade to be honest. I have no experience with other Spyderco blades though. I know you're not supposed to use you're knife a prybar etc, but in an emergency situation if you had nothing else, I really think the blade would snap off right at the Spyderhole. Theres practically nothing holding the blade together.

There's a pic online of a Salt 1 that was run over by a Bobcat. The FRN tore/snapped right behind the pivot, and the blade had about a 15-20 degree bend in it. I wouldn't worry bout snapping a Delica's blade, but wouldn't expect it act like a ZT either.

grind it out and re sharpen,,i saw someone who had a leek off ebay and someone reshaped it " the tip was broken,,one of a kind now...and if we get just the scales,,digi that is,,you will still have a one of a kind

If that were my delica i would try to catch it with my bare foot before i let it hit the floor hahahaha

Agreed 100%

My foot heals a hell of a lot faster than steel, blood too- I would rather wrap my foot in duct tape(I don't get stitches... Ever :P) than have to grind a nick or a chip out of a blade
