I finally got myself a CPM D2 Military

The D2 Millie was my hardest knife to get.

After paying top dollars for one in eBay, customs held the package requiring a police inspection due to it being a "weapon"...

FOUR months went by wrestling with bureaucracy, and I had almost given up...

Then I found a seller with a used one in a forum, and bought it!

Two days later, customs cleared my knife (the first one) and it was delivered. The second one will be coming in another way. So now I have two AND I AIN'T LETTIN' THEM GO!

Love this knife.

But, I must admit, the first thing I did when I got my grubby paws on the brand new D2 Millie was strip the clip down to bare metal, using sandpaper. Hate the looks of FG handles, shinny blade and black clip, and I had done the same thing to my FG D2 Para.

I recently bought a FG paramilitary, and I actually love the color. After that, I purchased a FG rookie, and the green on the rookie is a lot darker than the color on the paramilitary. Strange.

Don't take me wrong, I like the FG, what I don't like is the black clip on it, seems out of place.

I agree with you completely about the clip. I'm changing that soon, it really doesn't look right with the green.

Ok ladies and gentlemen, you aren't going to believe this but this FG D2 Millie I just got off the Bay without the original box may be the most perfectly built Spyderco I own and that is not digging on the percentage of Spydeco's we get out of the box. Almost all of them are perfect enough to keep the first one. But this D2 Millie I just got is almost flawless minus the box. I'll post pictures tomorrow. If this knife had the box it would be worth the maximum premium that a D2 Millie could draw. I am delighted!

The generic Box Spyderco is sending me for this one will do just fine :D

Sanded mine down a week after I got it. Shiny metal. :)

Sanded mine down as well. Mine is a dull satin finish. Left the black in the bug and a bit around the screws.

Great knife and CPM D2 performs very very well:D

Great shots! All four of my millies have been absolutely perfect right out of the box, so the fact that yours is too, is no surprise. Congrats again and use it in good health! :D
