Kelly,
Don't let the more fundamentalist element get to you. You've purchased a cracking knife. Just one thing, remind me never to upset you.

So let me get this straight- people with 1,000 posts get whacked for two weeks for asking some rather obvious questions, and an obvious troll is given free reign to advertise "her" wares?

Absolutely yes. And that's the way it absolutely should be.

The experienced member with 1000+ posts is held to a higher standard. The experieced member is expected to know and follow the rules and conducting himself appropriately. The longer-term, more active members are expected to set an example for the new members.

New members, on the other hand, are given a bit of slack -- not much, but a bit.

This is the way it is in life in general. When an infant throws a tantrum and tosses his food across the room and screams and crys, we clean up the mess and maybe scold the baby at most. But when an adult throws a tantrum and tosses his food across the room and screams and crys, we fetch the straight jacket. Adults are expected to know what is proper behavior and to set examples for children.

Long-term membership and high post counts are not a license to break the rules... quite the contrary, in fact.

with the above being said by Chuck..I would suggest that this thread be locked. it is not serving any real purpose for knife discussion. Lets keep the general forum...errr well...more general..
