Hope you and family had a great time camping! Think you had it covered with all those Blades:thumbup:
Good time was had by all. We went to a park just a half hour from the house, but we took so much gear, it felt like we were headed to the Outback for a couple of weeks. Some neighbors came over and joined us for dinner, and we grilled up some dogs and chicken and made a Dutch Oven cobbler. I ate way too much.
Camp notes... Found a newly minted cicada on the clothesline last night. On a lark, I stuck it on a hook on my little boy's Spider Man pole and threw it out on the bottom. Little while later, he was struggling to reel in a pretty big carp. He thought that was pretty cool.
Caught some finger-length bream yesterday evening and early this morning, I took them out to the channel in the yak and downlined them in about 40 feet of water. Was hoping for a big hybrid or a catfish. I got one good hit when something grabbed one bream and bent the pole over twice, but doggoneit, the fish spit it out without getting hooked. Marked a fair amount of bait and fish, but nothing was going for the bream. Wish I'd taken some shiners.
The wind picked up this morning and got stronger all day. By noon, when we were just fooling around in the yak, the lake was white-capping. Here's my wife going out for a paddle. A little later, I paddled like crazy to get about half a mile up the lake, and then I surfed the waves coming back in. Pretty fun.
