I finally understand that anything can be a reason to get a knife

I got an XL Vaquero Voyager.

I won't really carry it for EDC.
For anything that requires a blade of such size - I have a fixed blade.
I won't use it for tasks that you usually use a folder for either.
I most likely won't use it at work, garden or forest... or maybe at all.

So, why do I have it?.... - it just puts smile on my face.

I don't know why, but I just love this knife. It made me smile first time I picked it up, and even now it still does that.
I guess sometimes the purpose of owning something is just because it makes you happy.

The XL Voyager is surprisingly carry-able in the pocket. It’s just about the biggest folder I can discreetly clip in my jeans pocket. It doesn’t look massive at all when folded.

Definitely heavier than your FRN Spydercos though, hehe.

I like carrying big folders because I love the feeling of having something substantial in my pockets, not just a toothpick!

Knives are my cheapest hobby, so I can juatify them more easily. Honey, should I get this $600 knife or this Limited Edition Grand Seiko high beat. Her response is always, That knife is nice. Get the knife. Ok hun, will do

You seem like a Seamaster man. Or perhaps a Submariner. 😁

Grand Seiko is always nice.

Once you realize it’s all the same as Beanie Babies, Bentleys, and kids action figures… it all starts to make sense.
