They have to come up with a lanyard tube that works like a Corby......hey, I think we have something here!!

Most people in the SW who use it think it means fool. Literally it is foreskin.

I just glue the tube in a straight hole then ream the end so that it isn't a sharp 90°.

Pancho , I see with my one eye that you did not countersink the holes in the tang . I'll bet you also did not countersink the holes in the tang side of the handle . That small area will allow a space for the tube to expand so the handle does not take all the pressure . I could be wrong but that is how my mind's eye sees it . The path of least resistance . Besides , you need to countersink them holes anyway for a better epoxy rivet grip .

try countersink a little more..pre flair one side using a sacrificial piece as a holder..check fit on first dide then cut it off " proud" then use the screw head to steady one side while you try to flair the other ..ive done this a few times and it seems to work pretty well.
