So after many good suggestions from people on this forum - I settled on, asked for, and got early a Suunto MC-2G Global compass. This is a fairly large expense for us and I am very happy with my selection and happy to have a wife who listens to me.
I am currently reading a book on how to properly get all out of my compass that I can. However, if you look closely at the picture - you will see that there is an extra needle in the compass. It is the black needle inside and I don't know what it does. It is not magnetic and moves freely when tipped.
Anyone know what this is or does?
Thanks,
TF
