I got my Allen Blade knife

Hey Mr. Blade, It is obvious that you hate people criticezing your knife and
ability. But it seems that you are afraid to set a schedule to fulfill your old
orders. I won't question your quality of knife and your ability, but I will question your sincerity.
Yes! schedule is the most important. It is important for you and for us. Try to
think like this, it is like an free advertisement in public. If you set an reasonable schedule which you can really finish our order in public. Then if
you fulfill old order without delaying new order too much. How the people
here will think? I guess nobody will challenge your knife, bility and personality
any more.
So, how about the SCHEDULE?

Allen, i'm the owner of #16 Talonite Chipmunk forum knife.
Glad for your postive response.
We will see the next development for these knives.
We can't ask you not to make knives,
but we do have right to ask you to finish our knives first before you making other knives.
Simple and fair.

Thank you!

JOE , i will email you in a few days with a delivery date on th e 4 knives i am sending you and i will also know more about when the last 5 will be done, thank you for being civil in this, even though the problem was all mine for being behind and not doing what i should have done a long time ago and that was to get the knives to you, for that i regret my mistakes,,,, so i apologize again to you, and to the other few i still have to get caught up.

ANd for those 12 people i have got caught up, you know who you are, i apologize again for it having took awhile.

Thats all i have to say .

JOE look for my email in a few days,,,,

Now this is one great post and positive attitude.
I'm sure it's not easy to do so but you impressed me Mr.Blade.

Thanks for your reply I'll wait for your email.

Also I shouldn't say so after your sincere statement,
but please don't screw me up again because I do believe you will do the right thing this time.

Thanks,
Joe

Thanks for clearing things up Joe.

Allan, you are a real piece of work. You continue to make it look like it is you that is the hurt party in all of this. You got far less crap for this than you deserved as far I am concerned. What you did was not only unethical, it was illegal and you could have had far worse repercussions than bad press on some forums.

So like I have said, when you have fulfilled your obligations I will get off your back, not until then. I sure hope to see a post here soon from Joe that he has received those four knives.

You really don't get it. These people are potential customers, you moron! My teenage kids understand better than you do!

Wake up!

also welcome to all you good folks from taiwan, dont know you guys but do know joe, and he's one of the good guys for sure, good luck in getting your stuff, and best to you,

greg

SIFU1A,
Hey man I'm more than happy to say you are one of the great guys too.
No problem to have deal with you anytime. ;)

For those unfamiliar Taiwanese guys, I know them all and have met them in person many times. Taiwan is not a big place and most of they and me all live in the same city (Taipei). We ordered knives via my opertaion long time ago.

Taiwan say hello to everyone here.

Thanks a lot for your post, take care.
Joe

Let's just say Mr. Blade's customer service reaction here was sufficient to push me off the fence onto the "not placing an order" side.

Joe, I hope things work out soon for you. Still have the traditional leaf-folder you sent me. My dad has the one I gave him on his workdesk too.

I noticed something that Joe mentioned earlier that has really been bugging me, so I am going to ask you Joe. Was it Allan that brought up the fact that his knives were worth more at the later date and so he would only supply you with nine steel knives instread of the eighteen knives he actually owed you?

Was it Allan that brought up the fact that his knives were worth more at the later date

Keith,
No, he didn't say so. He just mentioned his talonite is out and he can still make steel knives (O1 or other steels, I have to check the mail for sure), I asked him to order the Talonite but got no response from him before.
Later when he mentioned again he doesn't have talonite, I had statement about this at post #99, I said OK let's change the orders to steel knives.

I know the difference. Just like when you ordered 10 knives from someone 3 or 4 years ago, maybe each knife cost you $10 and you paid $100 overall. After the long time waiting, the maker said he can't make the model you ordered and you have to change to the current mode/material he can offer. But the cost is like $15 per knife so you can get only 7 not 10 knives according to the new price.

To make this more clear, the steel MEUK was priced $89.95 4 years ago. According to this price and the money I had paid him, I can have about 11 knives. His price for steel MEUK right now is $125, in this way 8 knives I can have to cover the money I paid, he said he will make me 9.

Two knives "disappeared" after the conversion, but I think that's ok if he can make the knives for me without any more excuse.

Why I can have 18 knives for the money I paid? Most of the orders were for small knives at low price tag, also because Mr.Blade offer discount for batch-order at that period. You can have discount if you put 5 orders or so in one batch. No discount for the order conversion but again that's OK if he can make the knives for me without any more excuse.

I have stated the order chagne at post #99. And what have happened later was here obviously. So now I'm waiting for his email.

No worry for asking anything, ;)
Take care,
Joe

Joe,

If I read this right, this is how it goes:

You ordered X knives for a fixed sum Y, at a discount, at time Z. Each knife thus costs Y/X.

After some time elapses (Z'), which is wholly the responsibility of Mr. Blade, the putative price/cost of each knife goes up -- that is, the CURRENT market value of each piece increases.

Thus, the number of knives that you get is LESS than X, at time Z', at the fixed amount that you paid Y, due to an elapsed time that is NOT your fault!?

He sets the value of each knife at the CURRENT price (Z'), whereas the money that is PAID was in original time (Z)?

Is this the case?

If so, you should be damn well charging INTEREST on the amount you paid up front. That's opportunity cost right there. You gave him an interest-free loan for 3 years and even still you have not recouped your money. You could have invested in tech stocks and made more from it.

You paid in time=Z dollars and yet he is valuing it at time=Z'.

The gall of the guy is incredible. You have been too patient.

This is a joke.

The thing that bugs me about this is that the price of his knives now should have nothing to do with how many knives you get. It was Allan that screwed up the deal and he is the one that should have to live with the original agreement no matter how long it takes him to finish up the deal. You should also still get the batch discount, because once again it is Allan that is at fault for selling you Talonite knives and then not being able to supply them. You should not have to accept one knife less than the original deal called for. When Allan took your money he completed a contract to sell you 18 knives for a certain price. It is his responsibilty to follow through on that deal. The fact that he will have taken more than three years to do so should not in any way work in his favour.

Since you are willing to live with this arrangement then that is the way it is going to be, but if I don't see a post from you soon that you have received those first four knives then I am going to raise a real stink everywhere I see Allan promoting his knives. If he thinks I'm an A-hole now, he hasn't seen anything yet. There is no place in this industry for this kind of crap.

Hi biogon,
How are you recently? Be careful don't be cut by the leaf folder, it's sharp I know.

Wow your calculation is COMPLICATE but looks like you did a good math and the answer is right.

Sounds like a very good deal for the maker, right?
In this way he still didn't dlivery the knives to me right now that's why I started all of this in last week.
But this time he said he will email me for the delivery date in few days,
I bet we are all watching this, will he email me in a few days?
Will he keep the promise and send the knives out in time?
We will never know right now but he has chance and it depends on him.
I think for all of this he should delivery all of the 9 knives to me before any new knife he makes for others.

Sure not a good businessman about me and I'm happy I'm no businessman.
Just want to get over this. Have tried my best on this side.

Keith,
I know what you mean, that's why I feel SAD. I have done whatever I can. :(

Take care,
Joe

You gave him an interest-free loan for 3 years and even still you have not recouped your money. You could have invested in tech stocks and made more from it.
Hum! That's why I said Joe has a lot mercy on him.
:grumpy:

Joe,

Yep... the leaf folder is very nice! I carry her when I go out to nice places like dinner and the opera. ;) Only thing is that it is very slippery to open... I wish it had a nail nick..., or... maybe a thumbdisk (Well, it will not be a Traditional folder then! :) )

We'll be cheering for you.

I hope it all works out, and soon.

Take care.

With all the reliable Makers out there I don't haver the time or the paitence to deal with the likes of Allen Blade.

Maybe he should change his name again to Crum E. Service......

This guy is so stupid its almost funny. I sure as hell wouldn't piss on him if he was stranded in the middle of the desert, dying of thirst. You are a douchbag, Blade! Honour your original committments, and be a real man! :barf:

I think some of you guys may be missing the point here...

Joe, good guy that he is, placed an order with AB and paid his money upfront (always a bad idea)...he (Joe) also had some other good guys with faith in Joe pony up some money to help make the project go through...

When AB stiffed Joe 4 years ago, Joe was left holding the bag, needing to pay off those that had ante'd up, if only to keep his name clean with his (Joe's) pals...

Now, some 4 years later, with the Talonite supply exhausted and Rob S. dead (We miss ya Rob!), Joe is just looking to get what he can out of this losing deal...

At this point, any knives are better than no knives, X, Y, and Z be damned...

So, please, all help Joe get his knives by keeping yer traps shut until delivery actually takes place...kapish?

(If anyone needs a step by step instruction on zipping the lip for now, feel free to email...in the mean time, read between the lines, and stay out of it)

Joe, hope you're successful in getting your knives, finally!

Mel
