I got taken again by pm2phanatic

The scammer is a gold member here. I assume that means someone pays for upgraded status. Why not deal with the police and owners of BladeForums and take the guy to court since there will be an electronic payment trail. Not a good look when Gold members are ripping people off.

Last weekend I got taken by Jeremy Swisher for 500. Well looks like pm2phanatic got me for 180 bucks. Probably the same asshole truth be known. This time I got a usps tracking number to nowhere. Look at this bs he sent me when I bought the knife.

These dirt bags come out a bit more in the holiday season , but being hit 2 times this quickly is extremely bad luck, even if protecting yourself to the fullest. If it were me, I certainly would be re-considering how I was doing the transaction and who I was doing them with. Some sort of change is needed, and it is unlikely it will come from the thief's side.
Hope the future bodes better for you

I don’t know the guy, not defending him. But it’s only been a week, with holidays. For all we know he could be stuck at an airport. A little early to raise so much stink (two threads, PMs to other buyers, etc.), IMHO.

Go to the police. They will laugh at you and ask you why you’re so impatient.

Totally agree, LOL police...however he closed his profile page and disappeared after taking 2 members cash. I hope it's just a USPS delay.

The limiting who can view his profile after selling so many knives in such a short time raises red flags. The lack of communication does as well- it isn’t difficult after taking someone’s money to say “hey, something came up and I won’t be able to get these to the post office before Christmas.”
Going radio silent immediately after taking someone’s instantaneous payment and providing a tracking number is shady af.
He states in one post on Tuesday he needed the money. It is the holiday season so that is understandable but if you need the money and are selling knives here it is classless to not keep comms open with the buyers, especially one buyer who just got burned for $500 and is gun shy. It is common sense.
The guy has 65 posts here, at least half in the exchange, only has been a member for a couple of years and blocks his profile immediately after a selling spree. Those are major red flags. It would be great if PM2Phanatic PM2Phanatic would respond to his buyers as to the whereabouts of their knives.

Messaging Christmas Eve and not getting a reply through Christmas day doesn't say much. A lot of people are busy this weekend.
That is understandable however if he expected to be busy he could easily have kept the line of communication open with all of his buyers. Or not sold his knives until after the holiday which most of the world was aware was occurring this weekend.

Instead he clams up and makes his profile private immediately after taking several people’s money since Tuesday.
Whether it is a scam or not- it isn’t good form to take money when you don’t intend to ship asap without communicating that fact to the buyer.

Communication is ubiquitous today. People live and breath through their cell phones. Not responding in a day is 1 thing. Several days when having collected $100's of dollars is another.

File a claim with PayPal and let them sort it out. They were paid via Goods and Services right?

Who said anything about calling the cops ? So you're saying it's premature alerting other members when he has blocked myself and another member waiting on knives ? Im not here looking for sympathy dude, just trying to protect other members from getting the shaft. Grow up man

You keep saying you're blocked. Do you mean you can't see the user's profile? If so, that's not being blocked. The other member already said he/she is not actually blocked.

Although its not a good look at this stage, I do think a few more days of patience may have been reasonable. I don't think you can confirm you have been "taken" quite yet....even if that ends up being the case. Hopefully its just the holiday. I do hope this works out for the two of you.

(1) Post #22. (2) Yes. (3) I’m not your dude, kid.

I understand your worry after being taken by Jeremey Swisher recently, but I agree this may just be a poor communication in this case as it is Christmas and it has only been a couple days. I also agree there are some red flags ... the blocking his profile etc ... I would give it another day let the work week get started and see if this is resolved before I went too far into ruining a member's reputation.

I hope both get there knives and the transactions are finished and all partys involved happy.

These situations are creating a bit of a dilemma. On the one side you want to show patience and not tarnish a members reputation by implying they are a thief. On the other, true thieves work in a very small window and while you wait to disclose them another 5-10 people may get taken. I think I am going to put the burden of this on the seller. It is time they up their game, communicate well and ship quickly. If they continue to act hap hazard in their methods the fault falls on them, if they mistakenly get called out as scammers.
Good communication works wonders, and doesn't take much time

Jesus gents, that degraded quickly. I'm with those who think there's a lot going on this weekend and a little patience, while difficult in our AmazonPrime world, is probably in order. I've got several things in the Mail that have been significantly delayed just due to the time of year. Not that this joker isn't a scammer, but I don't know that getting not and bothered at this point is really worth the worry. If shit isn't moving next week... Well that'll be a bit more informative.

It's certainly good to alert other buyers or prospective buyers, and I agree communication smooths a lot of problems before they occur. However, the other side of this situation is:

1. Everyone paid G&S so there is literally no concern or rush. The seller has never asked for F&F.
2. It's a holiday weekend, and these two buyers waited til Christmas Eve to try to contact the seller and then escalated things to this on the same holiday weekend.
3. Both declared the seller a thief and at least one left negative feedback without the situation actually being figured out or resolved.
4. The whole thing is happening during a time of the year known for packages not being scanned. I'll say 3+ not scanned seems more like they haven't been dropped off yet than USPS's mistake, but it adds a reason to give some time for a response than reacting like this so fast.

If this was just a thread here asking publicly for the situation to be resolved and tagging to seller so that everyone on the forum (other current or future buyers) knows what's going on, that's great. As a buyer from this seller also waiting for a knife, I would have certainly appreciated knowing I'm not the only one.

However, already leaving feedback and the titles of these multiple threads is a step too far given the situation.

That said, like the seller, the thread starters (two buyers) are also newer and probably deserve some leeway. Good to point out this was escalated too much too fast for that reason.

Edit: I'll add for the seller side, my process when I sell is to provide the tracking right away and tell the buyer when I plan to ship and that I will tell them once it's been dropped off. Following up with that info has always been taken well.

True, and I likely would have called this out in a different manner(with the holiday ), but there are some red flags and I believe the number of offended has risen to 3, so I don't mind it being brought to our attention. It could be a thief, an inconsiderate seller, a guy caught up in the holiday, or a postal problem the seller isn't even aware of yet. The warning is out. Now lets see where this goes
I also was talking more generally in the prior post, than just this one seller.
Hopefully just a holiday problem that gets worked out.
