Although the Delta SA180 looked like a nice piece of equipment, it was too big and rather expensive for a miser like me. I got the SA 150, smaller, less power and not built as sturdy (some assembly required). Still, it seems well made for the hobbyist.

I also got a leather belt for the thing.

A little green goop for the belt (not hooflex) and it was ready to go.

Two passes on the belt and my WW2 was sharper than it has ever been. My technique needs a little work though as the AK Pen sharpened for me was sharper. My old edges would shave but I would have to say they were "hair scraping sharp". This new edge shaved easier.

A look with the 10x magnifier showed no flat spots or other anomalies.

I reckon I'll have to watch the sharpening cd again.

Bruise is officially dangerous..... :p

Now you can get real lazy Bruise...they just get so sharp *so* easily!

I have a tiny Royobi (sp?) 4x36" belt grinder that does more work than it should. The slacked portions of the belt are perfect for convexing an edge. Where did you get the leather belt?

P.S remember your respirator! :)

Congrats Bruise!!!! But you should'a got the big un to bigin with rather than having to get it later when you decide this one ain't enuf. :p ;)

You're going to love it, Bruise. Please post instructions on how to sharpen duct tape.

And remember: Delta is Satan spelled backwards.

BTW Bruise...Step 1: Count your fingers. Step 2: Theres good reasons for each, keep to the original number.

Heehee..I guess that's Bruise's Viking name!

Bruisi Fergusonson.

Now, mind yer Iron, Bruisi son of Ferguson, whose father was Fergus!

Wot!
