I hate it when...

Belt grabs and throws handle scale material I’m trying to flatten right when I put extra pressure on it.

I hate when I'm finish grinding a bevel at 220 grit and the edge catches and all of a sudden, my deep bellied drop point skinner turns into a thin bladed carving knife.

I hate it when the voice in my right ear is telling me dude, stop get a push stick, while at the same time the voice in my left ear is telling me to just keep pushing my thumb toward the bandsaw blade because, what's the worst that could happen.

Ok, if it's just your thumb that's not too bad. I was hoping you didn't mess up the Branson collaboration.

Sorry, man, bad choice of blade lube. I did that once, so I am wincing for you. Wish you quick healing.

Once?

I do it more often than I care to admit........ :/

It's funny, because bandsaws are some of the safest tools.
And I hurt myself on it all the time.

I was trying to explain to my daughter that This isn't bad.....

My reasoning was..... Well IF it was a tablesaw, I'd be not as good at counting!

Surely you are using a push stick, right?
It sounds to me like bandsaws are the most dangerous tool in your shop, you need to remove that nonchalance from your mind, next time you might not be so lucky. 🥲
Every tool room I ever walked in had guys with fingers missing, it can't be fun looking for a finger tip on the floor and then putting it in a matchbox hoping they can sew it back on at the hospital. However, if you do end up in that situation make sure that you put it on ice, the tissue remains viable for longer. ;)

Yup, nonchalance. I'm sticking with what I said.

(My) opinion of the Most Dangerous machines in the machine shop is the drill press and the pedestal grinder/buffer.

I know what I did was wrong. Thanks.
