it is too nice to use. i have taken it out and played with it, but i can't bring myself to actually put it in my pocket and use it. it is the most expensive knife i have ever bought, next closest is my police model, which i also cannot bring myself to use.....when i comes time to grab one, i always seen to go for the well used Boker Trance...

Use em. Gives em character.

I loved my Delica when I first got it and didn't want to use it for looks' sake, but it was using it that has bonded us together :D

I agree, and someone's going to say it, might as well be me: you shouldn't use them, but give them to me for safekeeping.:D
Use it, it's what they're made for, I bet you'll be glad you did once you start. I've only got a half dozen or so $150+ knives, but I use them all the time. Enjoy them either way!

i guess its like a new car. once you drive it off the lot, it depreciates like crazy...seems kind of insane to spend so much for a user pocket knife..

True. My most expensive knife has been my Delica Wave. I paid $65 for it. I look at the $100+ beauties alllllllll the time in lust, but I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of money.

I have one.. it is meant to be used.. The D-2 is amazing.. Use it.. It will last a long time

Send it on a pass around for a few months. Then when it comes back to ya, you won't be afraid to use it anymore. If someone breaks it, of course they replace it.
Just an idea.
Use it or get rid of it! :)

I'm usually the same way when I buy new knives. But they are meant to be used. Think about how well that knife will work when you pit it to good use. The Flat grind CPM D-2. The strong compression lock. The beautiful FG g-10 handles.......man I need to go out and buy one!:foot:

Use it!!! The Para is a phenomenal user and I think the best way to experience knives is not to fondle or just play with them but to go out and use it!

Stick it in your pocket and baby it for a few days and then once it gets its first user marks go all out and treat it like the heavy duty knife it is!

I agree with you rik, but I will not use my sprint runs.Well unless you want to buy two:eek:

Compared to the carbon fiber/S90V Military I use for drywall work, the FG/CPM D2 Para is cheap. ;) I don't spend $200 on a knife to baby it. I spend that much so I don't have to.

Me to, I used my s90v Millie today removing dead limbs on a tree.
Could have used something else but its what I had with me.

Still shaving sharp BTW.

I've been using my Lil' Temperance on a regular basis since I got it several years ago. The S30V blade and G10 handle still look new. Same for my Dodo. The only real wear I've seen on any of my knives with G10 handles and premium steel blades is if the pocket clip is painted black. The paint eventually scratches and wears off.

Please don't take this the wrong way, but what was the point of getting the knife in the first place? Wasn't it because you expected it to have superior performance? Go ahead & enjoy it. If it turns out you like it that much, you can always get another & keep that as a safe queen.

If I like a knife as a 'user', I will usually buy one to 'show' and one to 'go'. It's a bit more expensive, but I can have my cake and eat it too. ;)

OMFG !!!!

What am I doing EDCing a Large Persian which I paid over $230+ for ! I'm crazy !

But then again, it is beautiful :) It cuts like a demon :) I get to fondle it all day :)

If you love it a lot, I would certainly recommend using it. My Persian, Kopa, and Caly's get used....next in line is the Green or Blue Lum :o . It is like the new car thing..... break it in then you won't fear it any more.
