i hate my green D2 para military

I think the Paramilitary is the best knife made ever. It's my "THE knife". It's the one knife that after I bought (many times) I realized that I found THE knife that everyone spends all their time looking for. The never ending quest for THE knife.

I just now need to make sure I have plenty of backups of the Paramilitary.

The CPM-D2 Para you have is a knife just aching to be used. Use the crap out of that bad boy and don't look back. You just cannot have a tough knife like the Para and have it made to just be used and not use it. That's just not right for a Spydie to die collecting dust. :)

Use it bubba! It will treat you well.

Even if I don't see the need to use all my many discontinued Sypdies, I still would never say I "hate" them. They are works of art to me and some like my Shabaria's, Large Persian, Starmate, Yojimbo and even my F/G Manix that's numbered,(and all the rest of my collector knives, too) I want to keep pristine. I enjoy looking at them in their perfect unblemished state. Sometimes I take them all out and arrange them just to gaze upon their beauty. Wipe them down with care and place them back in their boxes, stack them up in rows, names facing outward so I can look at them setting on my shelf, knowing what each box contains. (you may say she's nutz but apparently from the number of pristine blades I see in pictures here and have bought off eBay and here I'm not the only one)

well, i went ahead and put it in my pocket and brought it to work today. baby steps, baby steps....even took a wood Qtip and whittled on it a little. it is amazingly sharp. maybe hate was strong word to use. could end up liking it.....

OMG that is a good-looking knife... I have to get one... It's American-made, right?

I just got that same knife yesterday and a Aventura. I won't ever cut anything with either and they are going in my collection.
I have the F/G d-2 millie in mint condition and the only one in mint shape, I've seen lately on eBay went for nearly 170! The d-2 para was made in the same numbers as the millie was. Just something to consider.

I've tried to "collect" my knives, but I can't. I have to use them. I bought a Stretch CF/ZDP-189 with the idea of keeping it mint in the box, but I can hear it calling out to me with its little voice. I'm trying to resist, but it's getting to me.

And after putting my Lil'Temperance to hard use for several years and seeing how it still looks like new, I'm not as reluctant to use it.

My Dad gave me a NIB P.E. Starmate and after seeing how it went up in 10 years, that started me collecting them.

I know what you mean. I was like that at first with a d2 mili but after the first few wincing cuts I started using it a lot. Its funny when you get a spanking new knife and you don't want to cut with it first. Like its made of glass and it might break or you'll hurt it somehow.

Use it. They didn't put all the materials and effort so it collect dust.

used it for its first real cut today.....some cardboard. went through it like a hot knife through butter..errr, like a para military through cardboard...
