I can't help it, is this a problem for anyone else?? Maybe it's because I am a new collector, but I can't stand any tiny scratch. Someone help! Hahah

Store your knives in a glass case that is hermetically sealed with built in temperature control. Oh, and never touch them.

Since I mod my knives a lot but not a pro they get scratched all the time.
For me this makes carrying them with pride fun

OP with respect If you gonna use your knife and and expect to never get scratches you and your knife are in for serious relationship problems

When I have the money, no joke im gonna do something quite similar.

If its a user when I get it I either drop it or gouge a long scratch in it, that way its already dinged up and i don't have to worry. I do it with watches and nice pens etc. Anything that I actually want to use.

Seal them in an acrylic block, then you can still see them but they'll never get scratched.

Or, as most non-whiney people do it, just use your knives and deal with it.

Knives are tools. "Shiny" tools reflect on the owner, and not in a good way.

maybe you should collect something that isnt prone to scratches, like paintings that you can just look at, knives are meant to be used as tools, they are beautiful but with use comes extra beauty in my eyes.

You are pansy, and propably a virgin too.
Now use your knives.

Not sure what being a virgin has to do with anything...

When I started out I couldn't stand scratches on my Sebenza. Now, I just don't care.

I use some of my knives and some are just for looks. All just depends.

Scratches are part of the game, my man. Get over it or start buffing them out and ruining entire finishes. The only time scratches on a blade bother me is when I buy something being sold as mint or NIB and when I receive the knife it has scratches in the finish. That pisses me off.

If it is a satin blade, 2000 grit sandpaper can do a lot to buff out scratches

personally, I like well-used knife

I'll echo everyone else and say "use it!" The scratches are inevitable. After a while, a well used knife looks pretty cool IMO.

For the knives I use, scratches and other cosmetic damage don't really bother me.
For the knives I collect--assuming they aren't already damaged to begin with--yes, scratches bug me.

Just collect pictures of the knives you like.

But really, I assume some good polishing compound will help, but the only knives I own without sctatches are the few in reserve.

i have a sage 2 that i don't want scratched, so i don't use it. i use my para 2 all the time and it is wearing beautifully. if you have a knife you don't want to scratch, don't use it. buy another knife that you don't care about as much and use the hell out of IT.

just my 1 and a half cents

Looks like our problems are near opposite...
I love scratches on my knives.

Makes them look well-used - which they are.

The ones I own without scratches are probably going soon, because I don't like having knives I don't use except for a few.

I love to use my knives. They get scratches, and worn looks, and it just makes them even more beautiful in my eyes. I mean most people would probably look at my beater persistence like "WTF?!"

Me - I look at it like "Hell yeah that one has some stories behind it."
