I hate scratches!!

I want to apologize the original poster. Beer and wrong section, no excuse for bad behaviour but I thought I'd mention anyway.

Seal them in an acrylic block, then you can still see them but they'll never get scratched.

Or, as most non-whiney people do it, just use your knives and deal with it.

Knives are tools. "Shiny" tools reflect on the owner, and not in a good way.

That last sentence is great.

Scratches give a knife character. It makes them "yours". I will not deliberately create them, but love the look of a well used and maintained knife!

If its a user when I get it I either drop it or gouge a long scratch in it, that way its already dinged up and i don't have to worry. I do it with watches and nice pens etc. Anything that I actually want to use.

This sounds ridiculous to say the least, but with that mindset, could you please post a you tube of you denting or banging up your next new vehicle?

Most attempts to remove scratches will leave the finish uneven looking. There are service providers here (http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...Full-Satin-Ratmandu-with-Polished-Convex-Edge) that are like a spa for your knife and can make them look brand new, but once you use it, it will keep getting scratched up. It is a vicious cycle which is why most people have a safe queen and a user of knives they really love or just embrace the wear and tear marks. For what it's worth, I don't get the safe queen thing unless you plan on selling it for a profit in the future. YMMV
