If those three larger blocks of ziricote, (the ones waving to me from the top shelf standing on end on the left, 2nd row) are over 6" long, I'll take them.
Here's a couple pix. I can't remember squat so you guys will have to figure out what kind of wood this is! I'm not sure if the top shelf of the freezer is full of ziricote or macassar ebony. Anyway, here's the pix I got for now.
Figured I'd edit all these pix and not waste the forum's web space since there's no interest in this thread!!!
I have some of that mystery wood . Hope somebody can guess it . I think some of it is African blood wood , not to be confused with the blackwood . But I am not sure.
The second pic down in post #26 looks just like some straight grained bubinga that I have. If it smells like dog crap when you sand it, that's probably it.
The last pic in post #26 looks to be bocote sapwood alternated with either bocote heartwood or cocobola. I'd lean more towards cocobola.
I'm interested in a chunk of that spalt maple, maybe the flame redwood too. It doesn't have to be cut into blocks or scales. What would you want for a foot-long slab of either?
