I Have The Hot's For A New Umnunzaan

UPS dropped mine off a few days ago and I am very happy with the starburst design. I think it looks way better then the standard version and well worth the extra $29.00. It is hard to complain about any of the Chris Reeve knives, they are all good. This knife is not cheap but when you carry and use it you can feel the quality made into it. I'm not going to be very happy when I put the first mark on this one.

I was the same way when my umnum was brand new, now I don't even notice any new scrapes or scuffs.
 
Does anyone have pics of both the regular Umnum next to this Wilson version? How does the new pattern affect the 3D in-hand feel of the knife? "smaller" has been mentioned, but what about grip/comfort? Also, is the pattern continued under the pocket clip?
 
Good question on the pattern under the pocket clip, never thought to look. After closer inspection it is smooth with no pattern under the clip.

As for feel in the hand - not sure how to describe it, but it feels very 'sure' in my hand. No question about slippage. The Wilson/Umnum has quickly and easily moved to the top of the list for my favorite knife. Too bad I have to dress up for work, it still seems a bit too heavy and big for dress carry - but that is what small Sebbies and Mnandis are for right? :-)

You ba#%$rds. Taking advantage of me in my weakened mental condition - flashing those sweet pictures before me. I just got out of knife rehab and now they're hauling me away again - howling - in a straight jacket. My wife is on vacation and was not here to "protect" me. But I got my order off before they kicked the door down.
 
Umnumzaans are pretty easy to open, not sure I could open one in a straight jacket though. Good luck and enjoy! :thumbup:
